Which candidate had the best snippets that will play well in the media?

Because you know that this will be hacked to death and only the "zingers" actually reported.

So who won the sound-bite contest? What statements stood out to you?

Discuss.

1. Its quite obvious that MSNBC is going to be All Hillary All The Time until Nevada. Absolutely
disgusting...that's all we'll see. Matthews needs to be OFF THE AIR.

2. Meh. I doubt it. He's just trying to get MediaMatters off of his ass.
He'll change his mind about the debate by tomorrow, I'll bet.

3. Best doesn't matter
It's what the media conglomerates want, and they want to remain conglomerates.

4. The "I voted for a bill that I didn't like and I'm glad it didn't become law"
That comment by Clinton SHOCKED me!

5. I'm almost afraid to find out how the quotes will be sculpted and presented.
Jeez, I'm sick of people leaving off the last sentence of a statement to spin what was really said.

6. Obama getting the Latino vote in Illinois was good
I liked his simple clarity on the issues. I liked his comment about parenting. Plenty of sound bites from him. We'll see if the media does anything of substance or continues with the race debates.

7. Yeah, especially because there was a reaction from the crowd.
He was the only one to get a reaction from the crowd.

I'm sure we'll be hearing that clip, considering it's about race, the MSM's favorite "issue".

12. All the Latinos voted for him
A question about tension between Latinos and AA, it was pretty funny. He answered it really well.

18. I believe that most of Obama's comments are straight...
That's a big reason I like him. And yes, I believe that this was a straight comment. Do you believe it wasn't?

20. He was making a joke
He was teasing. Like all parents think they're kids are the best in the world, even though we know there are lots of kids who are smarter or faster or whatever. It's the same kind of teasing he was doing with Hillary and the "you're likeable enough" comment in NH.

23. Oh, I get it...yeah, I agree.
I thought you were questioning whether or not he truly held his wife and kids in high regard. Needless to say, I was confused.

25. Oh, well I'm sure he does
I've just been surprised at the people who don't seem to get his sense of humor all the time. He did not mean any offense to Hillary at all, it was just plain old self-depracating humor that he extended to Hillary, which actually shows he respected her enough to think she would get it. Sometimes I just feel like working people live a whole different life than the professional class.

13. "This is a black and brown debate"
Said not once, but twice.

What does this mean? And if it is in reference to race, why would the candidate who is *supposedly* not playing the "race card" bring it up twice?

19. I think that was the name of it
Minority groups came together and put on the Black/Brown Debate. I thought it was a little weird the way she kept mentioning it, more like 5 times it seems to me.

21. Yeah, no matter what the "jargon" for it might be...
...I think it would be better to say "A debate hosted by African Americans and Hispanics", if you have to reference it at all.

The average American (like myself) doesn't know that jargon and it just came off weird.

I didn't. And to hear her repeating "black/brown", "black/brown"...just came off really oddly.

26. Yes. I thought it was odd when I first heard the name. It's just
not a phrasing I hear everyday. When I heard one of the MSNBC commentators refer to it that way earlier in the day, I googled the phrase. Evidently, Iowa has a Black and Brown Presidential Forum as well.

I agree , it might give the average viewer pause, but I do not think she was in the wrong to call it by its' name.
