I'm listening to Hillary on C-Span
She is hitting alot of my buttons - in a good way.

She is speaking to me.

Gawd - I never thought I would say that.

Am I going to support her? I don't know. But she is making alot of sense.
She is saying alot of the same things Biden said.

about things that we do in our own lives about energy and the environment. and then tying it into policy.

4. I am an at-home caregiver for a family member
and she keeps talking about people like me that don't get paid but are saving the government so much money for taking care of someone at home, rather than sending them to a nursing home. It really touched me.

Plus what she said about Iraq. Almost word for word what Biden would say.

I am listening, I'm not committing.

8. As a former at home caregiver to my husband for almost a
decade before he died, she understands what is happening. It's her solution that I don't like. It won't help care givers until the privatized middle men like HMOs and insurance carriers are removed from the equation and we move to single payer universal health care. She is unwilling to do this because she gets a good chunk of her financing from these same parasites.

She said she was instrumental in starting respite care.
I am going to have to do some research on that.

That is a huge plus for me....if it's true.

6. She seems to be connecting with a more populist message
recently and moving away from trying to get the swing votes. I think Iowa has taught her she isn't going to win the nomination by catering to the middle. She has to move to the left and promise us lefties what we want to win the primaries. If she gets the nomination, watch her move to the center again.

Personally, this is why I don't listen much to what they say but base my preferences on their past political actions and whom they are being financed by.

second favorite candidate. I have major issues with her.

But she is speaking to me today.

Edited on Sat Jan-05-08 04:58 PM by avrdream
It just depends on which issues are more important to each person. On the issues that count for me, I believe Clinton will do very well.

And I love when she speaks in a relaxed fashion - she comes across so much more on message than when she is trying to "preach".

17. some of what she is saying sounds great i agree
Now if i could only figure out how she keeps tricking the mute button, i put that on while I'm doing stuff in the kitchen, and she has managed to get vocal 3 times now while i was in there

obviously joking on it being her doing but my mute commands have been deactivated o.O

I was hoping Biden would hit in Iowa. He was my second choice. :(
There is a lot of good info at Hillary's website. I wish you well in making your choice. As much as I love politics, it sucks sometimes. It's agony to have to move away from your first choice.

23. Wow, her comment about abortion, that was wild...
she compared not having choice, to China having had forced sterilization and forced abortions and Russia forcing women to stay pregrant and following them around making sure they had the children. that was chilling.

24. She said that "Choice" -- though it has spiritual considerations -- is rooted in a RIGHT to Privacy.
I like that idea; that a woman's right to choose is rooted in a human being's right to him/herself.

Now, she's answering an energy question.

This is a very substantive Q&A.

When you follow a candidate and know their spiel, you really notice it when someone else steals from them.

Bidenites had alot of good laughs over that....plus a bit of anger.
