Well, Harry has decided to run for Congress in 2008 (NC-9) against Sue Myrick, an ultra conservative who was one of the signers of Newt Gingrich's Contract on America.

Jack Flynn and Bill Glass, her last two opponents were not very well funded or supported by our local party. They had a lot of great ideas and worked their butts off but in the end, Sue and her message or fear and hate won out.

We are hoping to change that.

Myrick describes herself as a "devout Christian." In 1989, Myrick was running for a second term as Charlotte mayor when news reports revealed that she committed adultery with a married man in 1973. Myrick admitted the adultery and won reelection.
