DK supporters: Why Kucinich and not Gravel?
I noticed in the big poll that's going on right now on DU that Gravel still only gets 1% of the DU vote. Why doesn't he get more? Is it because Kucinich gets more media coverage? Isn't that the complaint that Kucinich supporters have about Clinton/Obama/Edwards, that the only reason they are leading is because of media coverage?

1. No, it's because DUers aren't fucking idiots.
Kucinich gets more support here (trailing Edwards by a few votes right now) because he's a better candidate. Tough to compare the en masse of DU to the average polltaker.

6. I can only speak for myself, but his endorsement of a flat tax...
among a few other things are a big reason why. In addition, his lack of recent political experience is a negative, though I will never minimize his accomplishments when he was in office.

You are assuming, incorrectly, that the only reason to support Kucinich is due to the "underdog" factor, and while that may be a part of it for some supporters. For me, I find his ideas to make sense, especially on a practical level. He also seems much more open to new ideas to solve problems, that's important for the challenges ahead. The last thing we need is a candidate who cannot assimilate new information and integrate it into solutions, we have a pResident who does that now. Look at where that got us!

8. as others have said: his support of the UnFairTax
http://journals.democraticunderground.com/hfojvt/55

It makes him the only Democratic candidate I like less than Clinton.
