Dean should have McAuliffe's job at the DNC. . .
He could whip that baby into shape right quick!:kick:

I know it's not at all the job Dean supporters want him to have, but wouldn't he be a good choice?

where he belongs.

3. As a Clark Democrat, I say ... this idea rocks!
Yeah! The DNC is sick, sick, sick and by god we DO have a Doctor in the house. Howard has the cure and the guts to ram it down their reluctant throats.

6. Isn't McAuliffe Clinton's creature?

Wouldn't Terry Mac's replacement also have to be Clinton's creature? It might have happened if Dean's organization hadn't imploded after Joe Trippi left, but now I don't think so.

I really think Joe was the glue that held Howard together. The whole thing has just gotten awful since Trippi left.

10. All the more reason to replace him
Dean would really spike the DNC's fundraising capabilities and drive membership way up.

McAuliffe can go retire with Clinton.

11. Retire? Clinton?

The best president of the United States in the last 50 years? I don't think so.

Anybody who replaces Terry Mac has to be able to tap into the Clinton money machine. As horrible as that sounds, we can't cut off the only source of substantial money that the Democratic Party has at this point. Bush will have $200 million dollars--Trippi's $70 per (person) money wouldn't come close to what we need, especially if we're going to take back at least one of the two chambers of Congress.

9. I actually want my Dean TV!
Dean needs to get his own cable TV show. We need to have our voices heard on cable. It's been Puke only shows for waay to long. Dean would kick ass with his own show!

14. Dean should not be DNC chair because

he's prone to putting his foot in his mouth and he alienated a lot of Democratic voters during his campaign. (I know McAuliff has irritated most of us at one time or another, but we need someone smoother than McAuliffe if we replace him. Maybe John Edwards, if he's unemployed after the convention. He's smooth yet is also a passionate speaker.)

Since Dean got a lot of independents, Greens, and disaffected Dems involved in his campaign, it would be great for him to have a party position in charge of recruiting them, and more new voters, into the Democratic Party. He has done very well at fund-raising, too, but I don't know if he can get people to give to the party the way he got his supporters to give to him.

The party really ought to hire Joe Trippi to help the party and all Dem candidates set up effective online campaign sites. If Trippi's not available, they need to find someone else who knows computers and the net and has creative approaches to campaigns.
