Couple points though. You talk about Iraq and then later say "What war?" There are almost 2600 dead US soldiers over there, no? Vietnam and Korea were not declared wars. This is the same as them -- in many ways, actually. That doesn't mean I'm for this ridiculous "wartime censorship," of course. I'm just pointing out that you can't complain about these absurd "Victory in Iraq" moments, and then deny that we're at war in your next point.
the media certainly did not "submissively steno" the WMD lies of Santorum. Hell, even the CNN morning anchors made fun of the senator. I mean, come on!
No, the FBI terror case does not serve its purpose. It's being laughed at across the nation. Certainly down here in South Florida, no one I know is taking it seriously. Check out this column in the Miami New Times:
http://www.miaminewtimes.com/Issues/2006-06-29/news/metro2.htmlAll this case did was highlight the idiocy of the latest GOP tactics, which is why the media either stoppoed talking about it, or else started kicking the administration about it.
So, I don't think this has been nearly as effective as you make it out to be, and polls bear me out, which have shown a constant, upward increase in the support for a Democratic congress in 2006.
Finally, if they're going to rig the election anyway, why are they even trying so hard to scream about terror, guns, gays, etc? Why even bother?
