Especially true when they get to the southern states.

He was wounded in Italy so I guess he deserves some respect as a winner of the Purple Heart but he's got a lot of gall criticizing other vets.

Don't event think for one single moment of getting down.

Look at how the Dean suporters took the crap last week. We didn't give it second thought.

General Clark is also being maligned unfairly in the media.

But it's ok. The media will be all over Clark, but do not despair.

Our true primary is Feb. 3 and Super Tuesday.

We regroup, work hard and keep our heads up. The strategy remains in place, it never counted on a big show in NH.

Go Clark! Go Clarkies!

Congrats to the General for a dignified and intelligent campaign in NH. On to the states where he will fare better.

What does anyone think that the Bush campaign is going to do with all their money? A big chunk will be spent on destroying our candidates - one by one. By the time they are through with their lies, media cooperation and innuendo - how many will be left standing?

This is a long race and we need many of our candidates to carry on and my first choice is still Clark. Feb 7 is my caucus date!

57. It wasn't just the media attacking Wes, it was also
the media playing up the "electability" of Kerry and Edwards post Iowa.

Just heard on NPR that a lot of voters were swayed by that, and voted their heads rather than their hearts (their words). I'm getting more and more afraid next Tuesday is going to be more of the same.

And if this article is right (and I fear it is) that's exactly what the Dark Side has had planned all along:

71. Read the article...They are dead on about tonight
Waiting for the attacks on Kerry to begin and the Edwards push to begin.

I'd be scared but I know the General wouldn't want that. He is an unexpected quantity that they're are not quite sure how to defeat.

Remember, early today they said Clark was DOA. He looks pretty alive to me. He's tied with Edwards who came into the race with much more political experience AND the Iowa bounce.

Plus, Clark has a secret weapon. I live in Kansas...right across the stateline from Missouri. And I will be hitting the streets for Clark!

55. Carville pointed out so far only 1% of delegates have been assigned
I think he said 252 delegates up for grabs next Tuesday. Clark is just going to get better and better. For the Invisible candidate, he is doing great!

And remember, whatever happens tonight, we'll always have Dixville! :-)

(I need a "Remember Dixville" button!)

65. Which numbskull pundit said Clark should throw in the towel? Ha!
He has survived a tough week, tenaciously and with plenty of poise, no doubt learing alot. He is hanging in the back of the pack.

Not only are we heading South but we've got the newest flavor.... Clark has not had the exposure others have had and I think he will shine in the spotlight.

The guy did jumping jacks for votes for crying out loud.

I just can't believe all the negativity I'm hearing from the mediawhores on ALL the networks: Faux, CNN, and especially MSNBC with Tweety. No one, not ONE single commentator has had anything remotely positive to say about Clark.

This is an orchestrated conspiracy and the Clark campaign must have a response readybefore Feb. 3rd. The media is trying to take down Wes, and it's just so painfully obvious that they have no shame whatsoever regarding their agenda. Clark has surged to third place but somehow they are still trying to paint him out as a loser.

Fuck 'em.

But Kerry and Dean would have to start dropping off... and I don't want to see Dean tank at all. It's only 1% of the delegates (total in NH) that are up for grabs tonight. What we want is for Dean to take a strong second, and then we take our 3rd place into the SOUTH!

210. why I admire clark over L*, E* & K*
Wes Clark has made a good showing for himself in his first election.

remember when he took three days off of campaigning to go testify at the hague against milosovic?

kerry, edwards and lieberman couldn't even take the time last week to go vote for Americans on the omnibus bill. It lost by 3 VOTES! and millions of americans will lose their overtime because of it.

but milosovic will never harm another person.

General Clark is a man I admire and will always tell my children about. He knows what ruly matters. Feb 3rd is our day. people get ready.

cheers, wes!

232. Yes he does
BUT NH only holds 1% of the total delegates. So it's no sweat off our back if he doesn't make it to 15%. The important thing is this boost we'll get for a 3rd place win. This helps him get an edge on Edwards in the south, and keeps his names in the papers all day tomorrow.

268. Clark on C-SPAN. Partial re-capp (as fast as my fingers could keep up)
Gert introduced him (love her) and Wes sounds really excited! I think he's thrilled with a 3rd place finish. He's reminding us that 4 months ago we had no money, no staff, and no office... but we had hope and a vision for a better America.

"4 months later, we came into NH as one of the elite 8, tonight we leave NH as one of the final four!"

"We must beat George W. Bush... I can, and I will!" (big commanding voice - that must be his "general's voice."

"So we're heading South, we're heading West, and we ain't slowin' down until the final buzzer sounds! These last four months have been the start of an incredible journey. Today was the just the beginning of our battle in our campaign to take American back."

"We're leaving NH tonight a smarter, better, and even more determined candidate... and never never underestimate what a determined soldier can accomplish WHEN HE'S FIGHTING FOR HIS COUNTRY!"

And then C-Span cut in (of course!)

"So we're going to march onward, state after state until we send GWB right back to that ranch in Texas."

Crowd cheering "Na na na na, na na na na, Bush/Cheney, good-bye."

"A lot of people told me not to get into this race. They said I should leave politics to the politician... I was just and outsider... I was just a soldier from down south, but if there's one thing I learned during my 34 years in the US Army, it's this; that real leadership comes from deciding and doing, not talking and debating."

"And I simply couldn't stand by and watch while this country that I and so many have fought for unraveled before our very eyes.... the rich were handed one tax cut after another and 8 million couldn't find work... 12 million children languish in poverty in the wealthiest nation in the world... I couldn't stand by and watch special interests cut backroom deals with people in power... and I couldn't stand by and watch as day after day, our service men and women lost their lives in an unnecessary war in Iraq... so I didn't stand by... I stepped forward. I stepped forward and that's why I'm hear tonight. I see an American that's determined to be good and dares to be great..."

"I responded to a call for change... to an administration that puts the priveledged above people... change to an administration that holds itself above and apart from the people they serve... puts politics about principal... that we must take back..."

"The bottom line was, I was just sick and tired of republicans throwing about family values when it was clear to me that they themselves didn't value American families... because working families deserve better... the opportunity to work and make a decent wage... put a few dollars in the bank and save for their childrens' future... a tax cut to help pay their bills...they deserve the truth from the Commander in Chief. They deserve a leader willing to stand up to the real threats of Osama and Al Queda... the deserve top notch health care... a first class education and a shot at being just a little better off than their parents... this is why I'm running for President of the United State."

"I will never, ever forget where I'm from, and who I'm for... America's working families. And these aren't my values alone; they're democratic values, and that's what this party is all about. We've got to open the doors of this party to every person who shares our values...because when we take on GB this fall, we want everyone to join us, no matter where you're from, what your background is, or what your party registration might say. I can never repay the people of NH for their kindness and friendship over the last few months (goes on to thank supporters, volunteers, staff members, campaign folk, etc...)"

"And I want to congratulate John Kerry, Howard Dean and John Edwards, they're good men...(said some other stuff, but I couldn't keep up, but it was complimentary toward those three)"

"We're going to march on, meeting one test at a time with gritty determination until we take back this (country)..."

Sigh - that's our boy!

Clark is SECOND for voters on experience/electability behind Kerry....

This is proof positive to me that the campaign has to work with Dean to deliver body blows to Kerry so Clark can come out on top. It's a sensible strategy, dammit. Time to take off the gloves.

346. Why is it that Edwards was the big winner in Iowa ...
With a third place showing, BUT CLARK is a loser with a third place showing in NH????

I'll tell you why:
Clark and Dean are the biggest threats to this White House with their anti-war messages, and the Media/Corporations are using their whores to block any progress by either candidate.

306. Well
Tonight, the 2 issues that were the major issues for Kerry (according ot the exit polls) were 'Electability' and 'Experience' - and the #2 in both those categories was Wes Clark.

When we move south - Clark is going to have a good shot at swapping those positions.

Feb 3 is gonna ROCK.

Tonight has restored my deep hope that we will throw the usurper out of our White House this fall!! There are a lot of weary, yet fiercely determined people out here, and tonight, we are belting out our heartiest congratulations to General Wesley Clark for his vision, his grace and his strength.

Press on, General!

There have been pro-Clark letters to the editor every day in the News Journal. I have yet to see any support for Holy Joe. But, the polls say he is ahead. I noticed a building in Newark that seems to be perhaps Dean HQ. I have seen Clark signs around Newark.

Fingers crossed for Delaware to bring it home for the General.

Honestly, though Wesley Clark will beat George Bush like a drum. I don't think the other candidates will.

He has the most integrity, the most gifts, the best platform. He's the best candidate and we need to put it together for him.

Let's start the letters and phone calls to Arizona and SC.

373. I saw him being interviewed on BBC's newsnight yesterday.
I really like him, he was damning of Dubya and his handling of Iraq.
He said there were other ways to get Saddam.
If you go to the BBC news website, their is a wonderful audio interview with him. He is a wise man.
Even the BBC are trying to make out he was no too warm but to me he was the best.
They also interview McGovern who is supporting Clark, who has forgiven his vote for Nixon, saying Clark was a 27 year old, voting for his commander in chief.
Unfortunatly they also had a guy named Sidney Blomingburg a former senior adviser to Clinton. He was advocating a Kerry/Edwards ticket.
I think that are both great but I can see that Kerry is a huge risk, unless he is the second name on the ticket.
I hope for Clark/Edwards purely because they are both brilliant and
will make politics sexy, besides fat, sick Chaney and drunk, intellectually challenged *
