More evidence that the TV news media has been bought off?
I decided to swallow my disgust and watch Aaron Brown in Newsnight tonight on CNN. Nothing, nothing at all to report on the developments in Crawford - yet a spot was made for the trailer trash, mailorder bride.....and, yes, loads of time spent on hamburgers, of all things. And, the Iran weapons in Iraq story. So, we truly are in a state of complete misadministration run propaganda. I sent Aaron a very angry email but don't expect to hear anything. No wonder so many of our population are so stupid and misinformed....what do people think is going on? Is it a matter of following the money? Are they being muzzled or paid off - or are they simply under the spell of the misadministration? Are they showing their true political colors?

1. And the Aruban legal system saga rages on
elsewhere on the cable channels!

The look pretty desperate to me!

2. Did you notice that when he was doing that newspaper thing...
At the end of the show, he deliberately held the newspapers sideways so that the pictures of her weren't visible to the cameras?

He showed couple of Texas newspapers, and she was on the front page.

Not fit for CNN news cameras however.

17. I always feel sorry for him when he does the newspaper thing.
It is so lame and he always comes off as such an idiot in that segment, but I've never been a fan anyway.

3. it's called "no room on the stagecoach" when stories displace
other more truly newsworthy stories in the media, leaving insufficient time or space for the desirable coverage. it's de facto censorship whether intended to be such or not

4. That's the same Aaron who was in awe and admiration of Peter Jennings
because Jennings refused to do tabloid news. Great. Took all but 24 hours to forget this wonderful sentiment...

5. I really think
they have all been warned off because someone is going to try to quash this in the next 2 days. If CIndy and all get through to the weekend they won't have much choice but to cover it,and as far as I'm concerned that is this battle won.

12. Cindy Will Be In Jail By the Weekend. She Knows This and is Prepared
They will do whatever it takes. Whoever goes down there please make
sure your health insurance is paid up.

They will probably strike just before dawn, arrest everybody and prevent
any pictures from getting out if they can. It's not as if people can
scatter and get away, they are out in the middle of nowhere.

Anyone attempting to record these happenings photographically should
have the means to transmit the images elsewhere instantly, since the
cops may destroy any cameras/film/memory cards they find.

She is making the chimperor look heartless, and also making him look impotent.
This makes the chimperor very angry.

13. EXACTLY.
Some ppl think I'm being alarmist but I'm predicting something like this in the works. That's why i had like 3 threads going at one time about gettin cameras down there for documentation. Really wish we could have a live webcam but the costs seem to be prohibitive.

Why No Tea and Sympathy?

By MAUREEN DOWD

WASHINGTON

W. can't get no satisfaction on Iraq.

There's an angry mother of a dead soldier camping outside his Crawford ranch, demanding to see a president who prefers his sympathy to be carefully choreographed.

7. Anyone know if Frank Rich returns at the NYT this Sunday??
This type of story usually gets his attention, and he is adept at ripping into the misadministration.

8. Great find
thank you.

this is a brilliant summation:

It's hard to think of another president who lived in such meta-insulation. His rigidly controlled environment allows no chance encounters with anyone who disagrees. He never has to defend himself to anyone, and that is cognitively injurious. He's a populist who never meets people - an ordinary guy who clears brush, and brush is the only thing he talks to. Mr. Bush hails Texas as a place where he can return to his roots. But is he mixing it up there with anyone besides Vulcans, Pioneers and Rangers?

10. The Fear of Rove Has Been Put Back Into the Media
The Fitzgerald investigation is about to get shut down cold, and that
means that this little bit of feistiness we have seen from the media
these past few weeks is coming to an abrupt an very permanent end.
They once again live in fear or Karl Rove, and for good reason.

19. Not so sure he even has the power to do that ......
There's some debate as to whether or not Fitzgerlad can be stopped even if they were foolish enough to try it.

When it comes time to frogmarch BushCo (or whoever their successors are), the MSM must also be held accountable.
