"Scalia will step down if he doesn't get top job" ??
Heard a reporter, I think from US News & World Report, say this on FOX News this morning. He was asked if nothing was going on in Washington during this recess? He mentioned that Roberts is still being discussed and it appears he is headed for confirmation and may be appointed as Chief Justice? Then he mentioned the rumor that Scalia says he may step down if he doesn't get the top job. Anybody heard more on this?

They are all spoiled little brats on the playground who as long as everything is going their way are fine, but as soon as someone challenges them on anything, they pick up their ball and go home.

Gawd, we can only hope for a miracle such as this to happen. With Scalia being mentioned as CJ, I was beginning to hope for some sort of Pelican Brief senario.... (I am in no way advocating violence or harm to any member of the Supreme Court. Got that Agent Mike?!? I also hope to win the lottery, but that isn't going to happen either.)

3. Ooo. Don't toss me in that briar patch.
I'd be asking for his resignation letter that afternoon.

Sadly, I'm not in that position.
