The newly-formed Kadima party met at the Knesset on Monday afternoon despite the hospitalization of chairman Prime Minister Ariel Sharon the previous evening after he experienced a mild stroke.

Kadima MKs refused to discuss who might serve as a potential successor to Sharon, an issue that was suddenly made relevant with the prime minister's unexpected hospitalization.
Finance Minister Ehud Olmert, who is filling in as premier during Sharon's hospitalization, told Israel Radio on Monday that the party is not discussing possible successors to Sharon because "whomever votes for Sharon will get Sharon.
"It is a wild exaggeration to say that Kadima is just Ariel Sharon."
