CORVALLIS, Ore. (AP) — Oregon State University is considering development of large-scale solar energy projects atop campus buildings.
The Kerr Administration Building and the Hinsdale Wave Laboratory could have solar panels installed this summer. The Dixon Recreation Center and the Valley Library are also being considered.
Plans call for a 200-kilowatt project to provide enough electricity for about 40 homes — or up to 2 percent of the total power needed for campus.
The campus project would be one of the largest solar rooftop power systems in the state.
