We wrote and called Coca Cola re: Supplying Crawford camps...
We read earlier on DU that Coke had agreed to bring their products to the pro war camp but not Cindy's camp.

Copied from another site:

SOME OF FRIDAYS RANTINGS ON WWW.DEMOCRATICUNDERGROUND.COM

This post was about the local Coca Cola company donating water to their group... this is a prime example of how they work. If you don't agree with them, by golly, you better be prepared for their wrath! (This went on and on... they tried to call the guys boss and talked to Coke's corporate office in Atlanta with the same rhetoric. Heads up Dr. Pepper and Pepsi... they are calling you next!)

"I just got off the phone with Coca Cola in Waco.
After talking with them earlier in the week about furnishing some water to Cindy and the people out marching.
I was routed around and ended up talking with a guy named Craig who basically blew me off after promising to get back with me.
Anyway--I heard on the Randi Rhodes show that Coca Cola was going to be furnishing drinks for the counter protest.
So I called back and left a message on Craig's voice mail (you are welcome to if you like 254-399-****). THEY GAVE THE NUMBERS)
Basically told him that it was very unprofessional for him not to get back to me as he had promised. That I understood that Coke wouldn't take water to the thirsty mother of a dead soldier, yet they would furnish it for the ones who were making a point of harassing a dead soldier's mother.
I informed them that I would NEVER again drink a Coke product.
I also told them that I would make sure that everyone knew that Coca Cola was anti-mother/anti/family."

---snip----

So, we also called Craig and left him a message and wrote a letter to the Waco CC branch.

1. Did the Waco C-C branch stonewall the Camp Casey people?
2. Did they only contribute to the pro-war camp as we learned ?

We received a reply immediately:
They claim to be "non-partisan" and referred directly in their letter to false rumors regarding the Crawford situation.

I checked on Buy Blue and Coca Cola gives more than half of their contributions to Repukes but not all.

61% pukes
38% human beings

The good thing is THEY KNOW WE ARE WATCHING THEM!!!!!

Go DU!!!!

3. Isn't Frank Carlucci on the board of Pepsico?
That's why I always drink Coke products.
Damn! Now I'm going to have to start drinking healthy beverages or something.

2. I'll have to quit buying Coke
the least they could do is provide to both the pro-peace and anti-peace people.

4. We would like to know if anyone at Camp Casey in Crawford can confirm
either Waco Coke's refusal to even return phone calls or how the donations ultimately turned out.

5. Frankly, I would never buy their products anyway........
I just don't like the whole Idea of their crappy drinks. Water is just fine, why don't you contact the local bottled water Company and get them some Old Fashioned Spring Water in 5 Gallon Jugs, and some dispensers. My Family drinks a lot of it up here in OHIO. I understand trying to get Corporate Support, but they suck and then you have to recycle the cans.

6. Here is the letter I received from coca-cola

Thank you for contacting The Coca-Cola Company. We appreciate the opportunity to respond.

Unfortunately, there is information being shared about the Coca-Cola bottler in Waco, Texas that is not factual. Regardless of what you have heard or read, let me assure you that the bottler in Waco has not donated products to any organization or individual holding events associated with activities in Crawford – including radio stations or radio personalities.

The Coca-Cola Company is a nonpartisan organization. We do business in more than 200 countries, and do not take a position on matters that do not affect the soft drink industry.

Your comments are important to us and we hope that this clears up the misleading information that currently is circulating. Thank you again for contacting us.

7. Coca-Cola is heavily invested in Bushco. What would you expect? Maybe
because they heard Bush loves lotsa Coke - and they think it means soda pop.
