I hate it when I agree with Dr. Phil
I loathe that smarmy, sexist, homophobic Freeper scam artist.

However, I totally agree with him about penalties for drunk drivers.

Phil.
I have lost nearly 80 pounds, shaved.

He really is a super asshole, and you don't have to be gay to hate him, either. He is an equal opportunity asshole.

12. Notice how he tailors his suit so he doesn't look overweight?
The reason I say this: he has those weight loss shows where he berates people (usually women!) for being overweight.

33. He is one of my least favorite people - I have never seen his show
on purpose, never more than a few minutes by accident, and that several years ago.
He is another one I don't want in my home.

he was really taking the guy to task. But, I don't watch because of when it's on here.

6. What were his suggested penalties?
I've honestly never watched his show. Thought he came across as a prick when he was guesting on Oprah, so i just skipped his spin-off altogether.

14. He is a prick -- but I have an odd compulsion to watch him
Kinda like rubbernecking at an accident.

I had a friend killed by a repeat-offender drunk driver, so I'm definitely biased. He thinks that repeat offenders, ie more than one time, need to be incarcerated. And, if they kill someone if they are a repeat offender, it should be a murder charge.

36. Oh great, I agree too.
My brother was very badly injured by a repeat offender drunk driver. It happened almost forty years ago. He has had a lifetime of health issues related to his injuries. His best friend was killed.

11. If he is for harsh penalties
Then I must also with great discomfort find myself agreeing with him.

Too many people close to me have had their lives permanently altered because of drunk drivers. I survived a collision with one without permanent injury, and consider myself extremely lucky. Mere seconds made the difference. Wish I could say the same for my loved ones who weren't as lucky.

I admit a complete lack of objectivity on this subject.

16. He is for harsh penalties
I had a good friend killed -- murdered, imo -- by a repeat-offender drunk driver.

You know, it's not so hard to NOT drink if you'll be driving, and if you do, not to drive. When we go out, even two miles down the road to Haruka's aunt's on a holiday, I either don't drink or I have ONE drink.

32. Thank you, Lost...
In 1993, i was hit head-on by an idiot with a .2 BAC.

When Lyric and i go anywhere where 'adult beverages' might be consumed, i automatically either declare myself the DD (and stick to Diet Coke all evening), else we take a cab home.

It's not that hard... just don't get behind the wheel of a car oif you've been drinking alcohol or partaking of other intoxicating substances. If you do, you deserve jail.

Truly, to what you said. Starting in high school, I got in the habit very early sleeping on friends' sofas, when a designated driver wasn't available (I was lucky to have a few teetotaling friends). What's so difficult about that?

18. Like someone said up thread. Broken Clock.
Some of his advice is actually pretty textbook in terms of dealing with spousal abuse, drunk drivers, etc.

His delivery sucks though.

Was this a recent show? I don't watch him because he's on here at 3PM or thereabouts.
