Some asshole stole my lawn signs.
Here are the replacements-front and back, plus one for a local candidate.

That last one has the "MA" on different paper because some genius could not spell a five-letter name.

1. When I was visiting Northern Virginia the other week
My sister was telling me about an house down the street that had a bunch of Obama signs --and I guess some of them were stolen so very large "NO TRESSPASSING" signs appeared...

3. Just to be clear, these are replacement signs.
The stolen ones were official campaign signs.

4. I saw a show where a high school kid was getting his signs stolen
Edited on Mon Nov-03-08 09:05 AM by DaveTheWave
So he set up a live video feed online and people all across the world logged in and kept an eye on them. One night two teen girls stole the family's garden gnome and it was on camera live. The girls were gone before the cops got there though

6. I declined to booby-trap my signs this year.
I did in '04 and they were not stolen. I used fishhooks, not electricity, though. I don't want to kill anyone or start a fire.

In 2000 and 2004 I also had another solution. I made a lawnsign that was four feet wide and three feet high and staked it into the ground with wooden legs lifting it a few feet off the ground. I ran guy lines for stability and put orange tape on the lines to trick or treaters did not trip on them.

It was really cool because rounding the bend for my street, one could see "Al Gore" slowly rising above the hill something like six houses away.

9. That's it
Put those big giant fish hooks along the edges of the sign and wire it to a 220 volt outlet

7. I like that. "Republicans stole my signs but not my vote"
Only problem we've had so far was one of our Obama signs that was pulled up and tossed on the ground early Sat. afternoon. I'm still ticked that I didn't see the little/big shit that did it. It took place in a one hour time slot, broad daylight, from the time I checked for the newspaper and verified our signs were ok until I opened the door one hour later when I was going to take down the Halloween decorations.

8. It was my wife's suggestion.
I made them out of signs for another local candidate who had a lot left over. He was using cardboard signs, so it was just a matter of reversing them.

10. Here it's the McSame signs disappearing but ...
.... they're not being stolen.

For about a month a couple of houses has McSame/Failin signs on their property, plus across the road on some undeveloped land. However they had a far more pressing need... middle of last week the signs were replaced with different wording... "Multi-Family Yard Sale". Yep, they used the McSame yard sign frames and replaced them with something more pressing to their needs.

To date the McSame signs are not back up.

Mark.
