just saw Elizabeth -- the golden age. |
|
ok -- it's not as good as the first one.
but it's better than most movies.
and i simply can't think of another actress who can carry a movie -- constantly on screen the way she was -- today.
yes they take liberties with history -- but buddy, she delivers the Goods.
clive? -- little weak.
and the costumes -- oh my god the costumes. outside of something scifi -- i have never seen anything like it -- to. die. for.
if you wait to see it on dvd -- you will miss a lot of the magnificence that only the big screen can give this movie.
the scenery, the cinematography -- really good.
i mean if you're a movie buff - this is one for the theatre.

I may have a few hours free this weekend and was debating if this movie might be worth my money. I know it looks good, and it's good to hear a good report on it.

|
it's good and it's meant for the big screen.
rich, opulent -- and cate does a bang up job.

2. i loved the first one, this one not so much.... |
|
maybe because i just saw the Helen Mirren HBO movie about Elizabeth I.
this one just didn't do much for me--Cate Blanchett was very good, Clive Owen looked really good but while I wasn't actually bored, i wasn't unhappy when it ended.

better than most movies -- not as good as the first -- which was really good.
and then of course my feeling about cate pulling off a terrific job of carrying the movie.
that part was really good.

5. Nobody's been better than the English & the Italians at documenting their beautiful history |
|
The rest of Europe and Latin America and Asia and Africa could be splendiforous if they could get their message out there about their cultures.

if you haven't seen this movie -- it's worth it for the costumes alone -- which are jaw dropping.
