MOREHEAD, Ky. -- According to Kentucky State Police, two teenage inmates escaped custody by attacking a juvenile justice officer who was transporting them and stealing the state car in which they were transported.
Police said Amber Tucker, 18, and Brandi Murrah, 16, have been on the run since Tuesday.
According to a Kentucky State Police press release, the girls made their move on the Bluegrass Parkway while they were being transported from Warren County to Morehead.
The car was eventually found in Harrodsburg but, by that time, police said the two were long gone. “They’ll turn up someplace,” Harrodsburg Police Detective Sgt. Garry Bradshaw said.
