I'm in Labor! Ask me anything
about the grievance process, binding arbitration, collective bargaining, you ask it!

1. Ah, that labor!
You'll give birth to something in either type of labor.

2. My dear bedpanartist!
Good luck with your negotiations!

I've been in both types of labor, and frankly, I'd rather give birth!

3. we just ratified a three-year contract
did really well on work conditions and stopping health care increases, not so good on money. But external factors were to blame.

Did really good this year keeping our bosses in check though.

4. Good for you!
It's really difficult to get everything you want....

Keeping the bosses in check is second to almost nothing!

Congrats!

5. also got
back almost $40,000 in back pay for workers who weren't being paid the proper pay step.

Got a woman back her job, and back pay of almost 20k for being unjustly fired. She had been homeless part of the time when she was off of the job.

We only got a 1.25 wage increase, with a re-opener in wage negotiations for next year. But we've got to pass a levy, or get some big time help from our friend Ted Strickland if we're going to keep up with inflation.
