It movie night - any suggestions?
I'm going to rent a bunch of movies tonight and chill out with some friends watching them. Any suggestions?

1. I could use some of those suggestions too. I haven't seen anything good at the rental store

for awhile now. Music and Lyrics is supposed to be a pretty good "chick" flick, but I haven't seen that yet. Epic Movie looked kinda funny. I want to see Hannibal Rising, but I'm sure it sucked, the book was awesome though.

2. epic movie is a waste of money
really not worth the cost to rent or see in theater. i really did not like it at all. most of it was just potty humour and just stupid humour. music and lyrics does look good - that's one i want to see. School for Scoundrels is a pretty decent comedy. Bobby is really good if you haven't seen it. One of the movies I'll be renting is Letters from Iwo Jima. I saw Flags of our Fathers and really though it was excellent so I'm looking forward to the other movie. Deja Vu is another good one if you haven't seen it.

6. There are three films I believe everyone should watch.
In my opinion, these three films represent the peak of cinema:

"The Bicycle Thief" (1948), directed by Vittorio De Sica
http://imdb.com/title/tt0040522/

"Tokyo Story" (1953), directed by Yasujiro Ozu
http://imdb.com/title/tt0046438/

"Au Hasard Balthazar" (1966), directed by Robert Bresson
http://imdb.com/title/tt0060138/

All three transcend their stories and settings to become universal reflections of human nature. All are in black and white, and are in foreign languages with English subtitles. But they're worth it. After watching these three, nearly all other films that have been made seem trivial and inconsequential by comparison.

14. Netfilx has all three. They are all very serious films, not "feel good" films.
They are not easy viewing, but they are rewarding.
