WTF!!! Genuine Microsoft Windows |

When I started my computer today I received this message. They want me to purchase a genuine product key. Here’s the kicker “Only Genuine Windows customers are eligible to receive Microsoft product support, select security upgrades, and other new features.”

with the computer. Maybe you missed the prompt to enter the product key when you first got and started up the computer. (Otherwise, take it up with the vendor.)

It shouldn't be that way but I guess it is. I have turned off automatic updates because I don't want Microsoft snooping on my computer.

7. If you buy a used/refurbished computer |
|
They will usually tell you that the software cannot be updated, etc. It's not stealing, but the limitiations should be laid out up front. Some OEM versions don't provide for support or updates.
