I'm trying my damnedest today, it seems, to destroy my left hand.
Getting out of my car this morning, just like I've done a million times, my hand hit the edge of the door as I reached to close it. It was silly, but I whacked the end of the middle finger on my left hand hard enough to make the finger go numb for a few minutes.
Then, this afternoon, I was wrestling with my dog (60-pound Siberian Husky) and I jammed my hand into the floor, slightly, but painfully, hyperextending my left-hand pinky and ring finger--mostly my pinky. It's still sore.
Then, I was loading my PA into my car on my way to a gig and I set a speaker cabinet in the car awkwardly, twisting my left thumb.
After loading in, setting up and sound checking the PA, I was tuning my guitar when the guitar strap came off the peg on the bottom of the guitar. I was holding the neck with my right had at the time (even though I'm right-handed) and reached to catch the guitar with my left hand. Whack! The same end of the same middle finger whacked the side of the guitar. Yow! It felt like I'd hit it with a hammer.
I brought a new, 61-key controller to try out instead of my 88-key digital piano, and on one song, I reached to hit the big bass note with my left pinky (the hyperextended one). Alas! Story of my life, or my day at least, that note does not exist on a 61-key keyboard and I not only stretched the injured finger painfully, I whacked it down pretty hard, not on a forgiving key, but on the hard plastic case.
I'm sitting here with my hand in a bucket of ice and I didn't even do anything unusual to account for the damage!
As you can all plainly see, I need your sympathy, hugs and best wishes . . .
 :nopity:
