THE MORNING AFTER. Pier and dock intact, no damage. Blue sky, sun shining, birds singing, waters receding.
Another day in paradise. ;-)

MY NEIGHBORS WEREN'T SO LUCKY. View to the south. Many docks destroyed. There used to be piers and docks everywhere you see pilings sticking up. I may have some of the pieces in my yard.

TOP DECK 1. View from the dock's upper deck of house and trash line. That piece of pier next to the sidewalk ain't mine.
Well...I guess it is now. Maybe I'll use it for a deck next to the seawall. The board in the lower left of photo is top of seawall.
The bent down white roof to the left of the main gable is roof of screened porch that caught 5 oak trees during Ivan. Soon---FINALLY...to be replaced.

TOP DECK 2. Another view a little farther to the north. Our potting shed is in background. The windows you see in main house is ol' trof's office/study. It's where I am when I post and where we watched the hurricane from and took some of the photos..

TRASH AND TREASURES 1. Close-up of trash line. The white plywood used to be a shed or boathouse door.

TRASH AND TREASURES 2. Hmmm...could be some keepers here.
Close-up of my "new deck"?
Oh yeah, the gap in my pier deck is a couple of boards I had to remove a few days ago to get to a water line under the pier.
I know, poor planning.
