I have been having a pretty stressful life lately, with a lot of things not working out quite as I'd hoped. It was to my (pleasent) surprise that I found something rather unexpected in my email. It's good enough that I feel like sharing!
I've always wanted to work with my voice, particularly in radio and animation. It's not an easy field to get into. After several months of trying really hard to get a big start, I've recently become somewhat discouraged with the process. You get used to rejection after a while - it happens a lot in this profession - but it still burdens you.
Upon checking my email, I found that someone had contacted me directly. They'd heard my voice and were interested in potentially working with me on something. Lo and behold, a few emails/recordings later and I'm going to be part of an extensive year+ long project! It should pull in a great chunk of change, at least for someone of my newness, and will look really great on my resume.
I can't really detail the specifics of the project, but I'll be providing the voiceover work for an educational program developed by a highly-respected company. It's supposed to help kids in grades one and two learn to read. :)
