I just figured out how to add a WYSIWYG editor for my sites forums.
Drupal CMS rocks! :D

If you register and leave a comment in the forum, you'll be able to change font style and add links. Go ahead and try it.

I know that may not sound like a big deal, but I made a commitment to use all OpenSource for my site, so nothing is pre-packaged. This is all trail-and-error. Especially since I know ZILCH about PhP or JavaScript.

Next step: A Spell-Check, a UserPoints system and a URL filer.

Yay me! :bounce:

4. What You See Is What You Get

A very old term used before Windows.

(To clarify, it is used to describe a program, word processor, etc., that will display on the screen exactly what will be printed.)

5. It's not a bad thing to ask questions.

I know MU answered your question, but I'll elaborate a bit: \Form now on, people who post in the forums of my website don't need to use HTML to do any formatting for there posts.

I am particularly proud of this feature because it's the first Java Script application I've installed myself.

If you'd like to see my handiwork in action go here, register and then post a comment in the forums. You'll notice the bottom of the text box will look like a word-processor.

Now all I need is to figure out some way to motivate more people to start posting regularly in the forums. As of now, I have about 2 - 5 comments posted a week. (Which is better than 0 posts a month when I started.)

By the way, anyone with suggestions on how to make my forums more inviting, feel free to PM me with feedback.
