Owl Being Removed From Endangered List To Make Way For Construction
:grr:

<snip>

PHOENIX -- A government agency wants to take the pygmy owl off the endangered list in Arizona.

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service says it bases its proposal on a 2003 court decision. That ruling said wildlife officials hadn't shown the bird is separate from a broader owl population in Mexico.

This would end years of legal battles and would benefit home builders barred from construction in 1.5 million acres of the owl's habitat.

The de-listing proposal is to be published Wednesday in the Federal Register. After that, there's a 60-day comment period and a one-year deadline for adoption of a final rule. In the meantime, the owls remain under protection.

2. Thats really nice.
Why don't we just get rid of the endangered list all together? Then these fuckers can build anywhere they want, they can hunt anything they want, they can cut down all the trees, and get rid of what little nature is left in this country. It'll be a Republican Utopia. How great would that be? :sarcasm:

5. Phoenix is one the fastest growing areas in the country.

I would wager that with just a little bit of research one would reveal recent large donations by developer's or realtor's associations to the RNC or some other related org. It would probably be multiple donations under different names to avoid detection.
