That's Microsoft's new TCPA-ridden OS.
http://www.extremetech.com/article2/0,3973,1368390,00.asp?kc=ETRSS02129TX1K0000532The link's review lacks info on TCPA (naturally, mustn't scare off the potential customer base which sure as hell won't include me), but goes into detail about what's to come.
The OS, currently, is 5GB in size. Get that down to below 1GB and I'll be happy. But what, you say? WinXP is already 1.5GB in size?
The GUI now uses DirectX (pity they didn't use OpenGL, which is superior, but MS would NEVER EVER, EVER be efficient in their coding)
It runs very slowly on a P4 running at 3.2GHz and people commented that even an ATi Radeon 9800 would be a minimum requirement.
Microsoft is creating a new file system based on relational database concepts for fast searching (called "WinFS", how unoriginal and bland), which so far appears to be very buggy (so don't expect me to use it when it comes out...) (And don't forget th bug in the current MS Indexing Service for Win2k or XP that starts to CORRUPT files when the index file becomes 4 GB in size...)
If MS scares people into the realm of thin client computing because of this monstrosity... :scared:
No Mac or Linux posts please, just limit yourself to anti-MS comments (or even pro-MS comments if you're that sad) and everything will remain cool and flame-free! :D
