Memories of Saturday Morning TV
Edited on Tue May-10-05 07:17 PM by Liberalynn
I was born in 62 and these are the shows I used to watch on Saturday morning. Remember H.R. Puff-n-Stuff? The theme song went something like "H.R. Puff-n-Stuff where do you go when things get rough? H.R. Puff-n-Stuff always do a little but you can't do enough. I used to think Witchy Poo was hysterical. She later showed up on General Hospital as Robert Scorpio's mentor in the WSB. LOL.

Also used to love watching Isis and Shazam too. Never could stand Electra Women and Dyna girl. Even as a child Deidre Hall got on my nerves. I know she is a Democrat and I applaud her for that but I personally just don't like her "acting" style.

Also loved Goober and the Ghost Chasers. He was kind of a rip off of Scooby but I loved them both. Used to love how they had the Partridge's guest star in cartoon form on that show.

Loved Mission Magic too with Rick Springfield in cartoon form.

Anyone else have oldie but goodie Saturday morning favorites?

with Natasha and Boris. What was the name of the name of the Candian mounty that was on that show too? I can't remember.

I Also remember George of the Jungle. We used to change the words to the theme song to that and sing it about a bad taxi driver in our town.

Didn't Mickey Dolenz do a voice on the Groovy Ghoulies or was that the Spirit of 76?

3. I watched Wonderama. It had Chuck McCann
and I remember he did a "Little Orphan Annie" bit and would put these medalion things over his eyes. I would try to do it with coins but could never get them to stay. For cartoons I liked Tom & Jerry and Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and the other Warner Bros. cartoons.

12. I watched the Groovy Ghoulies which were on as part
of an Archies cartoon.

I LOVED Scooby Doo and Shaggy.

I also liked the short news retrospectives that were on CBS on Saturday morning. I think that and the Watergate hearings is what got me hooked on news.

Star Trek the animated series was also a fave.

We cannot forget Looney Tunes before they went all politically correct and non violent. It's where I learned to like classical music.

33. Romper Room
was a great show. I always hoped Miss Rita would say my name when she looked in the "magic mirror."

I also remember "bend and stretch, stand on tipy toe, reach for the stars, there goes Jupiter, there goes, Mars."

Captain Kangroo was great fun too. I loved Bunny, Mr. Moose, Mr. Greenjeans. I also liked the "Stone Soup Story, and the one about the "Caps" he always used to tell.

But there was a show were a dune buggy could transform into a sort of superhero dune buggy. This is way before transformers or Knight Rider. It was sort of like a more "hip" Herbie the Love bug idea.

Then there the one (boy I'm drawing a blank tonight) with Ruth Buzzy and Jim Neighbors where they were robots in a space ship that I think was lost or something.

And HR Puff-n-stuff were still around in my early years.

And then the original Justice League cartoons.

And the Blue Falcon.

I remember the Dyna Girl show, but I'd totally forgotten it until you mentioned it. And I think I used to like it, I certainly watched it.

Oh yeah..Rocky and Bullwinkle.

:) I watch much less TV these days.

31. Not Sure
but wasn't it called Speed Buggy or something like that, and his human pals called him "Speedy"? I kind of remember that one.

The kids I baby sat for used to love the New Zoo Review! It had Freddy the Frog, and an Owl. The little girl also loved Magilla Gorilla. LOL.

I still watch some TV but it is less than I used to as well. Now I watch home and gardening shows on Saturday mornings.
