Jessica Lynch: Anyone have link to her Bronze Star citation, or . . .
the After Action Report (or whatever the Army calls it) in which the "official" story is told?

I need it to set the record straight with some folks.

Thanks

1. What did she do to earn a Bronze Star
I do know what they give it out for. But it is a Purple Heart for being injured. I think the Bronze Star is awarded for a bit more.

2. Damfino...
It's supposed to be given for courage under fire. Far as I know, she fell off her vehicle, laid in a hospital, and was taken care of by others.

Hell's bells, Bob Dole got shot to pieces in WWII and didn't get the Bronze Star. Of course, leading his platoon into an ambush and getting a lot of men killed ain't exactly the kind of thing you get a medal for... but I digress.

The whole thing's a big fucking shuck in Jessica's case. I kind of suspect that she's not entirely comfortable with it all, but given that she's from a dirt poor West Virginia hill town, she'd be a damn fool not to cash in on it that same way the assholes in DC are.

3. Here's a few links. . .get 'em while they're hot.
The citation itself:
http://www.voy.com/122168/764.html

The criteria for awarding Bronze Star/Bronze Star with "V" for Valor:
http://216.239.39.104/search?q=cache:lSYm4DM7jvEJ:www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/12512385/gotomsg/12562982.cfm+jessica%2Blynch%2Bbronze%2Bstar%2Bcitation&hl=en&ie=UTF-8
(snip)
"The Bronze Star Medal is awarded to any person who, while serving in any capacity in or with the Army of the United States after 6 December 1941, distinguished himself or herself by heroic or meritorious achievement or service, not involving participation in aerial flight, in connection with military operations against an armed enemy; or while engaged in military operations involving conflict with an opposing armed force in which the United States is not a belligerent party"
(snip)

Note the words: "meritorious achievement or service" That activity usually gets one the BSM, but the word "heroic" gets one the BSM with "V" for valor.

You can also log onto Soldiers For The Truth website at www.sftt.org
Or just do a plain ole Google search using the words "jessica+lynch+bronze+star+citation"

Hope this helps.
