1. I got word on this...
They are afraid of a riot. If they tell the crowd that people are being stopped they are afraid chaos will break out.

People are getting there now. They are walking and blocking traffic. Fuck em, they can't stop us.

4. Just passing along the message... my friends are with Code Pink
From what I heard with my own ears on the phone in that train station, NOTHING is gonna stop those people from getting there.

They're just a little late thanks to the bullshit,.

6. The word is spreading in the crowd ANYWAY. They already know it - but the
PEOPLE don't because the media won't report it - having the speakers mention it will at least get coverage on C-span!

8. True. We just need to keep spreading the word.
I'm getting text messages from my friends now, they made it there on foot.

9. Well, I can kinda see what they mean...
imagine the tinfoil in that crowd, if they made a big deal about the trains being stopped, it might get a little ugly.

I do see that they want to stay on positive message. Ya know?

14. One of the speakers did mention it. I didn't catch the name, unfortunately
Edited on Sat Sep-24-05 12:09 PM by jane_pippin
but I did hear one of them say that the metro lines are stuck and people are still trying to get there from New York.

I think it was the head of the A.N.S.W.E.R. coalition, but I could be wrong.

15. Can someone save "screen shots" of the metro website???
with it's interruption of service messages.

I don't know how, else I would. These need to be documented.

Off to our local protest...
