Halliburton Stock at an All Time High
UPDATE 1-Halliburton to increase prices in October
Tue Sep 6, 2005 12:56 PM ET
(Adds stock move, loss comments)

NEW YORK, Sept 6 (Reuters) - Halliburton Co. (HAL.N: Quote, Profile, Research) will increase prices across all of its energy services business lines next month, the company's Chairman and Chief Executive David Lesar said on Tuesday, although he declined to specify the sizes of those price increases.

"With the demand that's out there and what we see coming forward in the marketplace, we are announcing that we are going to put another price increase in across all of our business lines," Lesar said in a presentation at a Lehman Brothers energy conference, monitored via Webcast. "We will put a price increase through in October."

In mid-day trading, Halliburton shares were up 2.5 percent at $63.89, an all-time high for the stock.

3. not bad for a company that was teetering on the edge of bankruptcy
when they hired darth cheney to be their CEO when Clinton was elected. darth knew absolutely nothing about the oil services business, which was their main business at the time. nothing. nada. nyet. What a difference a little access to power makes, eh?

Crude continues downward correction

Oil prices continued their downward correction on Wednesday with technical analysts saying that the decline could continue as the market had shown a reluctance to maintain higher levels in spite of the disruption to production caused by Hurricane Katrina.

IPE Brent for October delivery declined 49 cents to $64.40 a barrel while US crude prices eased 13 cents to $65.96 after falling by $1.61 on Tuesday.

Around 58 per cent of US oil production in the Gulf of Mexico remained closed compared with around three-quarters on Sunday.

US gasoline futures were up 1.3 cents at $2.068 a gallon while US heating oil futures dipped 0.9 cents to $2.0450 a gallon.

10. Well, of course their stock is going up! They know they have a
big contract coming in New Orleans, and it's gonna be another no bid, and they won't have to provide what they contract for anyway, and several billion can just go missing without anyone even looking for it, just as when they disappeared 8 billion of the Iraqi reconstruction funds they were given. Hells bells, with a future like that, how could their stock not go up? Proud to say even though I forsaw this event, I didn't buy a penny of their blood money stock.
