Dutch viewer: Bush's completely staged New Orleans mercy mission
http://www.warandpiece.com/blogdirs/002485.html

Dutch viewer Frank Tiggelaar writes:

There was a striking dicrepancy between the CNN International report on the Bush visit to the New Orleans disaster zone, yesterday, and reports of the same event by German TV.

ZDF News reported that the president's visit was a completely staged event. Their crew witnessed how the open air food distribution point Bush visited in front of the cameras was torn down immediately after the president and the herd of 'news people' had left and that others which were allegedly being set up were abandoned at the same time.

The people in the area were once again left to fend for themselves, said ZDF.

5. Yep, I am totally sure of it as well
The people at the Convention Center STILL have not been evacuated, the buses, relief trucks arriving, repairs on the levee were all, coincidentally, suddenly appearing so they could be shown on a split screen with bush's arrival. It is beyond despicable.

Maybe they have video of the Bush lackeys disassembling the stage.

33. I know enough German to understand it. Transcript (english) + MP3
Edited on Sat Sep-03-05 11:40 AM by DrDebug
But talking with the whole der/dem/den stuff is waaay too difficult for me.

Nevertheless - Translation of the Transcript:

From the last report. Now live from Biloxi, Christina Adelhard (sp?)

Two minutes ago the President has passed here in his convoy, but what has happened here in Biloxi during the day is unimaginable. Suddenly salvage troops appeared. Suddenly clean up crews appeared . That was something the people had not witnessed here before and that in an area where it was not necessary to clean up on a grand scale, because nobody lives here anymore. The people have moved on into the city. Nevertheless the President travels here. The press therefore can take wonderful pictures which is supposed to suggest that the President where there and the help will also arrive. The scale of the natural catastrophe has shocked me, but the level of choreography has also shocked me. With this we return to Hamburg.

German State Television ARD and ZDF. News bulletin 20:04:34-20:05:23 Sept 2nd 2005.

MP3 file of the interview:
http://rapidshare.de/files/4684828/01-_tagesschau_de_-_tagesschau__20_00_Uhr__02_09_05.mp3.html

I couldn't convert or cut and paste the video file, so I made an MP3 clip out of it.

15. well,
there seems to be emerging information on this board that the two girls picked for Bush's photo-op were, in fact, foreign nationals (exchnge students) that lived 17 miles from Biloxi and were there only to salvage clothes. In their town, only the electricity is down.

However, this information is sketchy, but proof is emerging. Looks like they slapped this one together so fast that they forgot to erase a paper trail from the internet.

20. They definitely did not have regional accents
They sounded like Aussies or New Zealanders. They were sisters. I heard them say they were there to get clothing to a talking head who interviewed them for their reaction to meeting the monkeyboy.

What, he couldn't meet with any LOCALS? Too afraid of any REAL interaction? Fucking wuss!

22. That is the "WTF were you doing on the AF1 flight, ya douche" photo
Pulling his pud, maybe? You take your briefing ENROUTE--you land and you have the bubble. Instead, he stands around, thanking and appreciating, and getting info he should have gotten while in the goddamn air enroute to the location. And all the while, trucks full of food and water and medicine are held up so he gets a jazzy "split screen" from the media.

He was trying so damn hard not to repeat Poppy's "split screen" error, which showed caskets arriving from Dover while he was laughing, smiling, and gladhanding, that he put his pathetic, cretinous IMAGE ahead of lives. Asshole!!!!

Push the theme mentioned here yesterday: WHAT CAME FIRST, THE CHICKEN OR THE AID??? Push it hard!!!!!

23. A link to the zdf article
I don't find any video at their site, because they only seem to work with MS IE. Which I don't have. Here's a link to all their Katrina videos: http://www.zdf.de/ZDFmediathek/inhalt/16/0,4070,2369104-1,00.html

But here's a written summary of what their correspondents saw:

http://www.zdf.de/ZDFheute/inhalt/23/0,3672,2370967,00.html

But it doesn't talk about actual dismantling of distribution points. It says, under the headline "Räumarbeiten nur für Bush?" (Clearing up only for Bush?)

(My attempt of a translation:

Wherever Bush visited the area of disaster, relief troupes did a proper cleaning up - but only in that place. From Biloxi, ZDF correspondent Claudia Rüggeberg quoted despairing neighbours that Bush ought to bring along relief goods in his luxury cars instead of bodyguards and personal assistants.

Along his route, clearing troupes cleared away rubble and dead bodies. Then, Bush departed and, according to Rüggeberg "all relief troupes along with him". Apart from that, the situation in Biloxi didn't change, and everything is lacking.)

38. direct link to real player file of this report (in German)
http://real.mdcs.dtag.de:8080/viewsource/template.html?nuyhtgwEhAz6wEhAz6lxA6y6ye6mb8l9oC4falmm3f

just copy and open in Real Player, the interview with the ZDF correspondent you quoted begins at 4:30 minutes.

It is from yesterday's (September 2) ZDF prime time news report ("Heute-Journal"). Your translation, BTW, is perfect.

34. RoveCo watched "Wag the Dog" once too often
The difference is the pResident is making untoward advances on the American people and not just a particular "Firefly" (or whatever they were) girl. So, staging of anything would not surprise me. This whole pResidency has been staged from his "town hall meetings" to his ranch in Crawford. Why would this be any different?

36. Kicked and recommended, and I'll find the DU links from last night
about the Aaron Brown interview with these 'staged' sisters who weren't even from Biloxi, would have had to travel about 18 miles on non-passable roads, and looked as if they had just stepped out of the shower. No way were these two 'victims.' Just when you think its impossible to be more disgusted with this bfee, something else comes up. We have to impeach this bag of evil.
