Give Bush the Welcome he deserves
George Bush will be in town August 29 and 30 to mark the anniversary of Japan's surrender and the end of WWII.
There will be a candelight vigil Monday evening, August 29, 7 p.m. at the Hotel Del Coronado where Bush will be staying.
The Candlelight Vigil will be from 7-9 p.m. on Ocean Boulevard, just north of the Hotel Del Coronado. We will be on the west side of the sidewalk running along Ocean. There is no parking on Ocean Boulevard. The head of the vigil will be at the end closest to the Hotel; we plan to spread north on Ocean as far as we can go! BRING CANDLES!!!!
Take the Coronado Bridge (which becomes 3rd St.) all the way to Orange Avenue. Turn left on Orange. The Hotel Del is on the corner of Orange and R.H. Dana Place (on west side)/Adela (east side).
If you turn right on R.H. Dana Place (or before that) you may be able to find parking in the neighborhood.
If you turn left on Adela, there is also a lot of street parking on B and C streets.
You can also take the Coronado Bridge (3rd St.) to Alameda, turn left and follow Alameda until it becomes Ocean. Look for parking in the neighborhood, as close to the Hotel Del as you can get.
Parking is very tight in Coronado, so please carpool and allow plenty of time.
