I, for one, want to give a "shout out" to the people who stood in long

lines at the Superdome and to all the people of NO who evacuated in a relatively orderly fashion. Special shout to the people in the lines. I saw a few of them interviewed by Geraldo. They were good spirited, non-griping, and very positive. Contrary to some who have commented about the "kind" of people standing in line and despite the rather overreaching action of the Homeland Security forces causing the long, long lines because of personal searches of those waiting to get in to the dome, the people there seemed to be acting much more civil than most of politicians and TV pundits. I am worried about the safety of all those housed in the dome and I pray that they all get through this are able to re-build their lives after this terrible tragedy.

And no, I haven't heard a word from my family in NO. Scared shitless for them.

2. Hang tight people. You'll be safe tomorrow. Then you'll be evacuated.
Plus the eye is getting smaller.

3. Are they really sure the Dome will be safe?
I was watching all those people too, and I realize they said the Dome was the safe place of last resort, but I keep wondering if even the dome is a safe place there? I'm sure it's better than private homes and most other buildings, but isn't it vulnerable to this terrible storm too?

5. NO
I just don't see why they couldn't use every available municipal, school and Greyhound bus to transport those without cars to higher ground. They've known about this danger for a long time.

6. bribri16, I hope you hear something very soon...
Where are your family members in NO? Do you think they went to the Superdome?

We're praying for everyone in NO... And I agree - the people outside the Superdome were remarkably calm and orderly... I would have been freaking out!
