Since we have a President who can fly to DC to 'save' a dead woman, but can't show the same leadership with a record storm heading towards our country....

M'aidez!

2. France offered help on 9/11 and on a major quake in California
its was politely turned down on both occasions :

"Thank you, but we can manage ourselves"

France can only offer help AFTER the eventual disaster. We'll see what the answer will be...

I hope you know most of us never bought into the France bashing. Most of us know where Liberty came from.

4. And we may not have won the Revolutionary war without them...
now they've got the Iraq war right (like most of the world didn't anyway). I guess BushCo will be turning down Chavez' offer to help our poor, too

5. What will probably happen is that French initiatives to help
like sending money to relief associations could be overwhelming, specially because of the ties between Louisiana and France...

I would be very surprised if the administration would let special rescue teams of French firemen, forensics etc.. experts like the ones that worked during the tsunami work on US soil...

but you never know...
