"Support the troops!! (until they die, then just make them go away)
or until they come home in pieces physically and mentally-

That is what just struck me about the ridiculous claims by the 'eagles' that Cindy doesn't 'support the troops'- How better to support them than to desire than NO MORE end up like Casey???? or thousands of others like him????

ACCOUNTABILITY- support is NOT a magnet, a ribbon, blind submission, or pretty words that float off into the thin night air....

Death isn't pretty- it's not 'fun'- it's not "patriotic"- but damn it it is REAL and in a war of CHOICE, somewhat avoidable.

3. They are just scarred...
Counter protesters at Crawford feel better knowing that someone else is getting killed and not them.
They are the ones checking the Homeland Security Web site with their cup of coffee in the morning looking to see if the thread level was rised.
They do not take airplanes anymore because they are afraid a minority would make it crash.
They voted for Bush because he looked like a stronger leader but he's just a coward dressed as cowboy.
They shit on their pants the moment they hear one terrorist released a new video in Fox News.
They are afraid of Holloween, they don't know if the guy with the Osama Bin Laden outfit is Osama himself.
That is why they have guns in their houses and like to look rough, cause they are scarred (see... W is scarred to talk to the innocent mother of a dead soldier so he sends his advisers).
They are the chickenhawks but I like calling them chicken shits.
They use soldiers to send their hate message and dishonor past vets (McCain, Kerry, etc.).
They use the magnetic yellow ribbons on their Hummers and wonder why gas is so expensive today.

4. every one is scared of something.... but
their fear is killing people- THOUSANDS of people, and doing it while waving flags, invoking god, and morality, and honor.
Funny isn't it, that this country seems to love 'blood and gore' in movies, and video games- but when it comes down to the REAL THING- they find it almost 'obscene'-
And cloak the gruesome REALITY of war, death, carnage and suffering behind a veil of "wanting to respect the feelings of the family"- What about facing those families??? What about SEEING the 21yr old with no hands, who will never stoke his babies cheek, or forget the scenes of horror that play forever through his thoughts-??? and people say 'well I suppport the troops' and then complain about taxes,- or the awful price of fuel-

WAR is the worst answer to any problem, and its costs can NEVER be counted, or paid off.

Sorry, i'm so frustrated with those who truly DON'T care, and what is worse, are proud of that sad truth.

6. My biggest gripe with these people
is when they say, well he signed up, he knew what he was getting into. My son signed up for the National Guard 3 years ago for Educational help and at the time, did not think ever he would go to war. I mean since when did we send our guard to war?

So I say, no he did not sign up for this war, he signed up to defend this country and to do so, he needs to be in this country not overseas fighting a blood for O.I.L. war...

7. I tried to nominate this, but it's too late.
Good post anyway. Too bad the people who need to read it won't.

8. They support their right to die for them
And it's horrible that they have to die and all but here's the deal-with those guilt ribbons as I call them-"better them than me." They think the troops are in their place. That's the whole point of worshipping the military-they are dying so I don't have to. What if I don't want them to die? What if I would rather die here in my streets and feel better about myself and the world if I actually defended myself? I've never liked the idea of an army by proxy. If everyone was in the military and everyone actually had to defend themselves in their OWN COUNTRY what a different world it would be. And really the whole United States is too big. It should be smaller quadrants that defend itself and if we need the big guns from Washington we could ask. Otherwise..peace. But I digresss..because the world makes no sense to me. I have no problem with shooting any Iraqi (or anybody really-I'm not a pacifist but murder by proxy for corporate greed and ideology I just can't support) in my own street trying to kill me and mine. However, I would never even know about Iraq if I never read or turned on the tv. So how do they threaten me in my country again? Oh yeah..they might get nuclear bombs someday in twenty years and they might use them against me and this might happen someday so it's justified to kill a bunch of people now that I will never have anything to do with and did nothing to me.

And also, how does killing Iraqi's over there or even just making them have a democracy stop some nutcase in America from strapping a bomb on himself and blowing up a bus? How does it stop terrorism?

So many logical questions, and so few answers.

The world is insane.
