The Nauseater of the Day: Katherine Harris by Wayne Madsen.....
Edited on Fri Aug-12-05 07:01 PM by Joanne98
The Nauseater of the Day:

Florida's Republican Congresswoman and chief election fixer Katherine Harris, who, during her recent riotous announcement that she is a candidate for the U.S. Senate, likened herself to Discovery shuttle pilot Eileen Collins.

Sorry, Cruella D'Evil, err... Ms. Harris, Eileen Collins pilots a sophisticated space shuttle. It took years of training to achieve her status as a shuttle pilot.

And incumbent Democratic Florida Senator Bill Nelson, who Harris is challenging, has much more in common with Eileen Collins than does Harris. Nelson has trained for and flown on the space shuttle.

On the other hand, it takes no talent (but a tremendous lack of self respect) to bed hop throughout Florida to be able to illegally park a white SUV in front of a fire hydrant at Starbuck's at Third and Pennsylvania on Capitol Hill and then claim exemption from parking tickets because of attendance at a congressional session.

Similar to Eileen Collins indeed! Astronaut Collins and her crew came down on the Discovery. Katherine Harris, on the other hand, has gone down on everything but the Titanic.

Katherine Cruella D'Evil Harris, stand by for this:

I had to post this because yesterday a duer got my thread jerked for calling Harris a *&^%$. Apparently someone else thinks she's a &^%$# (see bed-hopping reference) Please don't report me to the police. lol

4. She's the woman in 101 Dalmations
who wants to kill puppies for coats. The author (Dodie Smith) was wonderful with character names. She had a writer in "I Capture the Castle" who had a severe case of writer's block and she named him "Mortmain" (dead hand.)

Katherine Harris stumps for Senate votes in Demo stronghold of Boca Raton

BOCA RATON -- Katherine Harris made her first foray into the Democratic bastion of South Florida on Friday morning as she neared the end of a weeklong statewide tour as a newly declared Republican candidate for U.S. Senate.

Democrats relish the thought of the congresswoman winning the nomination to challenge U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, D-Fla. Republicans insist they're happy with that attitude, which they regard as a mistake.

Harris herself insisted the 2000 election wouldn't be the dominant issue, even in such a Democratic stronghold.

But even at the friendly venue picked for her South Florida debut, an appearance organized by the Republican Jewish Coalition for about 100 people, several in the audience said Harris could gin up the Democratic base.
