I'm listening to Randi Rhodes and just heard that Valerie Plames
....CIA undercover company was closing in on the terrorists and who was financing Osoma Bin Laden. It was the Saudis.....Bush's bankrupt oil company was bailed out by the same Saudis. So, by outing Plame, the WH got two for one, closed down her company protecting their oil assets and interests and shut down Joe Wilson, so the Iraq War could move forward. Wow!

I tend to think that when he (Fitz) said that Rove wasn't the "target" of the investigation, he may be talking about Cheney or another member of the Cabinet, but then again, he may be speaking about the larger conspiricy.

The corruption is staggering. It's for sure that the threat posed by Plame was sufficient to motivate something as heavy-handed and ham-handed as what they did. Apparently, Plame knows about small airplanes ... and may have certain 'defenses' that precludes other neutralization approaches the PNAC/OSP/Rove/Neocon cabal likes to use. The 'collateral damage' of blowing the front company's cover could indeed be the real target of the leak.

from an article that cited those claims.

She started out saying something that has been overlooked.

Novak didn't only out Plame, but a couple of weeks later outted her front company and everyone around the globe that worked for them.

97. First, the current regime was not voted in, they stole it.
Second, many people couldn't see much difference between Bush and Kerry. Both were dead wrong on the most important issue of our time: the war. Kerry was so mealy-mouthed he seldom had the guts to loudly take the exact opposite position from Bushitler. If we get a genuine and brave liberal as our candidate, the vast majority (60% at this point) who hate Bush will have a real alternative to vote for, and maybe even overcome the pukes' election stealing machine.

since the nexus of interests makes such actions downright compelling and self-justified for these guys.

A personal snit would be enough. A lesson would be enough. But serving a bunch of nefarious interests makes the decision inevitable and seemingly "righteous".

On edit. I have been elsewhere trying to point out how simpleminded some single issues and interpretations are regarding to seeing the unified, consistent agenda thrusts of this administration. Occasionally, Dem leaders pick apart the regime one faux pas at a time and don't see the inexorable unified march and the malice aforethought of it all.

And if some one in the WH or GOP is sunk by one issue that would satisfy nervous Dems seeking some leverage against the national clouded mind. Yet it is not enough by a long shot.

72. You're right, of course.
But, to Hell with them!

If the Democrats had not been so enamored of "moving to the center" over the years to dull the sharp edge of GOP "American Values" demagoguery, "framing" would not be such an issue.

The GOP has to use "framing" to make BS sound like it makes sense.

If the Dems had remained true to their Progressive roots of 100 years ago they could, as Harry Truman said, "Give them Hell ? I just told the truth and they thought it was Hell !!"

A couple of examples might help.

Prof. Lakoff was recently asked how to bring "depleted uranium" to the higher profile it deserves, being the menace it is to both Iraqis and American troops. He replied, "Stop calling it a Republican name. Start calling it what it is... a "radioactive weapon" (non-nuclear, but "radioactive").

On one list the question came up "How?".

The answer is "never use the phrase DU" (that would be Ducks Unlimited). Always say, "radioactive munitions and weaponry". And then never let the words fall from your lips again. Our fellow travellers will soon enough understand the "reframing" and pick up on it and use it themselves. Soon, only the GOP (and the military) will be using DU.

Then, when the issue comes up with antagonists who insist on using "DU", give them Hell by making them "tell the truth". And the truth is "depleted" means it is still 88% as radioactive as was in the beginning. The fiercest argument you can get from those people is "No it's not! It's only 60% as radioactive!!"

With that answer, you win. Hands down.

One more. "What happened to Fallujah ??"

The GOP and warmongers will say that the Marines recaptured Fallujah and pacified it in November, 2004. "Oh, yeah?? Show me the pictures!" And if they can produce any, you win again.

Simply because the way the US "pacified" it was by fire-bombing it, much like we did Dresden in WWII. Except in Fallujah, it was up close and dirty. Not the high altitude, impersonal incineration of bodies of WWII.

If they call you a liar, show them the closeup footage of Fallujans, running from their Mosques with their flesh burning off in chunks.

"Insurgents! Terrorists!" they may scream at you.

"Four year old terrorists? Seventy year old insurgents??"

You will be doing Harry Truman's bidding. Telling the truth and making them think it is Hell. For the truth is, the US violates the Geneva Convention every day by using MK-77 (think napalm on anabolic steroids) on civilians in "free-fire" zones.

The US military command is guilty of war crimes. Daily. And in Fallujah, we reduced a city of a quarter of a million people to relative cinders. And much of the population with it.

It is time we stop being polite to these Fascist bastards and get right in their faces. Start calling things for what they are, not euphemisms. Start noticing, and bitching loudly, about the elephant in the room (machine vote fraud and election theft). We must stop pussyfooting around like the centrist DLC and call spades what they are... spades!

One last one, as it may soon be needed.

Karl Rove is not a "leaker", not a "whistle-blower", not "helping a reporter get the story right."
He is a "Traitorous Bastard" and, by compromising Valerie Plame's undercover intelligence network, resulting in the deaths of her agents, he is a "Murderer by Proxy".

Let the WH or the MSM frame the legalities any way they want. It still makes Rove a "Traitor and Murderer by proxy". Never give those bastards a break. You can be sure they will never give you one.

87. They wouldn't have any ability to "frame" things if the news monopolies
were not giving them a big trumpet with which to foist their MINORITY views on the rest of of us.

63% of Americans oppose torture UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. 58% of Americans opposed the Iraq war BEFORE the invasion. (It's up to about 80% now.) On ALL major issues, foreign and domestic, the vast majority of Americans oppose Bush, way up in the 60% to 79% range. And his personal approval, which has been very poor for over a year, has now sunk to 42%!

So, WHO does this man represent? And why are THEIR views spewing forth from our public airwaves?

I'm sure that you understand that I don't personally call the discussed people "conspiracy theorists". However, I still have to combat the argument that they are this unmentionable phrase! :)

Actually, this is part of the Right's playbook. I like what you say -- when I hear someone dismiss something as a conspiracy theory, I'll reframe it as instead being a speaker of unspeakable truths.

Thanks for the more positive, truthful wording.

31. Why do I have this image
of mountain climbers scaling a ridge. They're all tied together with the same rope. The going gets reallly icy.

Suddenly, one of the climbers in the front slips (Rove). He falls down the chasm. The rest of them all go down with him.

To paraphrase a former president, "You will all go down together".

80. Knowing that Bin Laden was trained by the CIA, Poppy is ex-head of the
CIA and still receives daily breifings, the Saudis and Bushco's have always been joined at the hip makes you wonder if the so-called Saudi financing isn't really CIA financing. That would make the 9-11 puzzle a bit clearer, the record heroin production in Afghanistan is perhaps the source of some of the CIA funding. It would be like Iran-contra all over again, except with much more devastating results.

investigating nuclear and wmd money laundering and trafficking. Cheney was working with the same people who were being investigated. This was going on for a decade or more. An analyst in the Pentagon lost his job for protesting the repression of information contained in a report he worked on. Cheney objected to the release of the information.

Search 'Cheney Khan Pakistan Pentagon'.

If true, there is and equally important reason for stopping this CIA operation.

49. Might this have resulted in "identifying" several other agents as well?
The law prohibits dissemination of "any information identifying such covert agent". "Naming" the agent is not necessary.

I submit that several covert agents, perhaps even some then stationed abroad might have had their covers blown. Naming a company set up to provide cover for its employees who are actually agents could be construed to be "any information identifying" them.

I think Tenet must step forward -

- tell us that the CIA and contacts were not jeopardized, that her file and Brewster-Jenning were NOT classified, that she deserved what she got, the Joe Wilson approached the CIA and talked you into sending him, that he paid his own way. Tell us that you did not debrief him. Or tell us that he was not debriefed by CIA staff. Tell us that you were displeased with his zeal or professionalism and his written report.

Then tell us why you were let go and later knighted?

a sitting American president go on trial for treason, but I'm not so sure it won't happen. They have botched this whole mess so much they can no longer lie their way out of it. I have always thought Bush attacked Iraq to get the heat off of Saudi Arabia because the highjackers were Saudi and Bin Laden is Saudi, so it just makes so much sense to attack Iraq. 61. I am wondering if this is why there was an "unanticipated shift"
in the Grand Jury investigation?

Here is a quote from the Plame Leak Judge Hogan:

"Special Counsel now needs to pursue different avenues in order to complete its investigation." Judge Hogan concluded that "the subpoenas were not issued in an attempt to harass the reporters, but rather stem from legitimate needs due to an unanticipated shift in the grand jury's investigation."

There is an interesting thread on this 'unanticipated shift':

FBI Translator in eye of storm on retroactive classification
Boston Globe - Boston,MA,USA
By Anne E. Kornblut, Globe Staff | July 5, 2004
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/articles/2004/07/05/translator_in_eye_of_storm_on_retroactive_classification/

<snip>

Edmonds, 34, who is fluent in Turkish and Farsi, said she quickly reported the mistake to an FBI superior. Five months later, after flagging what she said were several other security lapses in her division, she was fired. Now, after more than two years of investigations and congressional inquiries, Edmonds is at the center of an extraordinary storm over US classification rules that sheds new light on the secrecy imperative supported by members of the Bush administration.

In a rare maneuver, Attorney General John Ashcroft has ordered that information about the Edmonds case be retroactively classified, even basic facts that have been posted on websites and discussed openly in meetings with members of Congress for two years. The Department of Justice also invoked the seldom-used ''state secrets" privilege to silence Edmonds in court. She has been blocked from testifying in a lawsuit brought by victims of the Sept. 11 attacks and was allowed to speak to the panel investigating the Sept. 11 attacks only behind closed doors.

CD: What are they so afraid of?

SE: They're afraid of information, of the truth coming out, and accountability - the whole accountability issue that will arise. But it's not as complicated as it might seem. If they were to allow the whole picture to emerge, it would just boil down to a whole lot of money and illegal activities.

CD: Hmm, well I know you can't name names, but can you tell me if any specific officials will suffer if your testimony comes out?

SE: Yes. Certain elected officials will stand trial and go to prison.

Chairman Kean's pre-9/11 Oil Links to bin Laden Severed Just Before
Appointment to Commission

http://www.tomflocco.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=52&mode=&order=0&thold=0

9/11 Commission Chairman and Amerada-Hess Oil director Kean's company
maintained Caspian joint venture Delta Oil business ties to bin Laden's brother-in-law for 15 months after attacks despite reported terrorism finance links--and just 21 days prior to Kean's appointment by Bush to commission. This, as FBI translator Sibel Edmonds' letter and follow-up calls to Kean charging FBI internal security and espionage breaches went unanswered for a year.

<snip>

If Americans become aware that Mr. Bush and Mr. Kean both have had
connections to an FBI-validated Saudi financier of terrorism, questions will likely arise why Congress did not fight the White House's redaction of 28 pages of the joint congressional report (reportedly implicating Saudi officials in the financing of al-Qaeda terrorism and the 9-11 plot) and why bin Laden family members were allowed to fly out of the United States without being questioned by the FBI. This, while all American planes were grounded--the ultimate sweetheart deal.

But here's the real kick in the head. Turns out that unlike the 18 minutes missing from the Nixon tape, the 28 pages missing from Congress' publicly released report on the September 11 attack has been found. And it turns out to be a summary of Saudi Arabia's financing of terrorist fronts including the 'charities' supporting Al Qaeda.

National Security Whistleblowers Coalition: Congress, Whistleblower Protection & Accountability

An unprecedented group of national security whistleblowers have formed a united front as the National Security Whistleblowers Coalition (NSWBC). They will collectively attend two bipartisan congressional meetings today to demand that Congress act to end government retaliation against those who expose national security blunders, that Congress hold hearings into the federal government’s actions against whistleblowers, and that Congress act to require ‘individual accountability’ for retaliation against whistleblowers. The congressional meetings will be followed by a press conference featuring speakers from the NSWBC and guest speakers.

Three huge dots that might be connected if Edmonds information comes out. Rhodes discussion does sound very familiar to Edmonds stuff.

The Bolton dot, the Niger dot, the 9/11 dots are waiting for their day.

One fell swoop: end of Rove, Bolton, Bush, Cheney, GOP, nuclear option, Ashcroft, Iraq invasion, Novak, House of Bush.
