What can be done about faux news?...
How the hell are they allowed press credentials? Why aren't they being discredited? This one is really a thorn in my side.

Nothing. We have to choose our fights carefully right now.

All we can do now is not watch it.

10. Done their job
The media has not told the truth about the Bush administration over the last four years. They make Bush out to be a righteous man. Fact this man has lied to the American people about Iraq, stole the surplus and gave it to the rich. Still giving American jobs to foreign countries, and illegal aliens in Americans. Ties with the Saudis. Killed 100,000 Iraqis on a lie in the name of democracy. I mean it just goes on and on. The media just lets him get away with all these things. This country should be outraged! Yet they put him back in because of the media. After all this man seemed so stupid in the first and second debate its amazing how he became the President of these United States.

3. We need our own media.
And guys, if it's a liberal media, you may not like it, but if it has informercials for sex toys at 2 am in the morning, it's an idea that will quickly bomb. The goal is to have a news channel where mainstream America will come for another point of view on news that affects every one in America.

13. Is Gore TV going to be a reality?
Edited on Thu Nov-04-04 08:08 AM by JBoris
Many seem to think so, but when I google it I don't see much recent news on it. Anyway I don't really think mainstream America has to watch it think a Dem news channel would just have to counter-balance freeper TV's echo chamber, make it a wash and let people decide the truth.
edit:fixed spelling

18. I wish we could use the internet to start a fund drive for Gore.
You know, looking over the last 48 hours I realize he really did put up one hell of a fight. I'd like to see him get his own media.

5. Nothing Free Speech has its draw backs. Even though they spread
misinformation and show their true colors every day what you do is point out to people they are being mislead.

7. I couldn't help but notice over the last year
that the people I know who go by FOX news either 1)refuse to believe they are being misled 2) don't care that they are being mislead OR 3) find tremendous comfort in being mislead - sort of like a bed time story that you know is a fairy tale but you want to hear it over and over again anyway.

8. All news is entertainment now any way. There are no real reporters on TV
they are all on the internet doing blogs and stuff. They are more then likely not pretty enough for prime time which seems to be the main requirement to be a reporter these days. That and being able to conduct unproductive interviews.

stupid to the people who are still watching, so they turn them off.

16. Pick them off one by one
Not sure it's possible, but couldn't we target some of the most outrageous poeple - like o reilly, whom a lot of people listen to? He should be vulnerable now what with his recent adventures. Boycott advertisers (though it's important not to overuse that mechanism, so that when we do, it has effect) - and why not even pretend we are disgusted evangelicals outraged that this filthy pervert is still on the air? I keep using my sister as an example, but she likes him - I don't think she'd be so impressed if she'd read the details of the lawsuit against him like I did. I'm not good at ideas but it's obvious we can't really go after the entire media as a whole - but after all there are as many of us as there are of them - they punch above their weight so why can't we? We proved it with Sinclair, we can do it again, if we just have a real specific target, and just hammer, hammer. I know it would be hard, but I don't think it's impossible. Play dirty, they do. In fact, in retrospect, I'm kind of wishing someone had followed up on that bush twin abortion rumour - if true, that would have exposed him for the hypocrite he is. I guess we thought we'd win anyway just because we had right on our side. Just doesn't seem to be enough.
