Clinton in 92 wasn't drawing as high of numbers, folks.

Look at the rundown in MAJOR swing states. Penn crowds of 30,000 - 20,000 - 15,000. Ohio crowds of 15,000 - 20,000. Now a Michigan crowd of 20,000.

You think about the excitement for Clinton-Gore after their convention in 92 and the excitement of these crowds now for Kerry-Edwards. They are TOPPING 92 ...and that was a GREAT year for the Dem party, as Dems swept the House and Senate, too.

VICTORY-SIZE CROWDS.

10. It proves the terrorists want Kerry to win!!
Edited on Mon Aug-02-04 03:31 PM by stopbush
We know that all of the terra warnings say they want to hit large gatherings of Americans. Here are those large crowds, and yet...no terra! Why is that? Why, they want Kerry to win! That's the ticket. Remember, absence of evidence isn't evidence of absence.

On a similar note, the crowds at the Kerry campaign stops seem to be keeping away Martians, the ghosts of dead people and the Jamaican bob sled team. We're looking into the reasons for that...it's probably got something to do with terra and flip-flopping...

So Kerry is outdrawing him three-to-one or more. People are hungry for change, folks, and that genie ain't going back in the bottle.

5. well, since U have to have
a ticket and promise your first born 2 gain admittance 2 the squatter show, I'm gonna guess the crowds have not been large. It occured 2 me that U never see those overhead, long view crowd shots @ a squatter show. When it is broadcast, U only see the people lined up behind him - never from, say, over the shoulder looking out @ the multitudes(ha). I may B all off on this cuz I can't watch longer than 3-4 seconds.

8. The Grand Rapids rally was 20,000?
I was at the Taylor MI rally and there was a good sized crowd

Not good for me personally, mind you...I went with the misguided impression that I would get some great photos at a small pretty much unpublicized event.

NOT QUITE!

The crowd looked huge...the Miami Herald reported 6000 but it looked like more than that to me (it's so hard to tell)

There were no people "bussed in" either these were all people that brought themselves to the event (Go protest a bush event and you will see what I mean...they bus his "local supporters" in from other areas)

I attended a Gore rally in 2000 and it was tiny compared to what I attended yesterday...in fact Jon Bon Jovi was playing and you could have walked right up to him (we did)

If Kerry didn't get a "poll bounce" from the convention then I don't know where the hell all these crowds are coming from!

11. "If Kerry didn't get a "poll bounce" from the convention..."
I'm sure he got some bounce, but since the media (including many pollsters) are in Bush's pocket, they are obligated to report otherwise...

It just makes you realize how close we are to losing our country completely if we haven't already.

13. I'm impressed too - what's the coverage, if anything?
I mean, are the news channels talking about the size of these crowds and the fact that Bush's are bussed in?? We oughtta be talking about this.

I suppose I could get off the computer and go look at the news... but I seem to still be here.

16. I wasn't watching
but as I said right above, I don't think the people in this country are listening to the media much. It doesn't seem that way if Kerry is drawing crowds like that.

20. Remember, these are people just showing up to hear Kerry...
In order to see the Chimp you have to swear loyalty beforehand....(Cheney was demanding it in writing in Albuquerque this weekend)....

Look up the Dewey/Truman race in 1948...Dewey was supposed to be unbeatable, but Truman kept taking his case to the people themselves....and the morning after the election, the man from Independence, Missouri was photographed happily holding up the wildly inaccurate "Dewey Wins!" headline in the Chicago Tribune....

Just to go see him at a rally? That's... umm... even more cheney'ed up than Bush bussing in the faithful. I didn't hear about this over the weekend at all. What happened (if you have the details)?

26. Grand Rapids Is Solid Red Area, Too
Some people from more liberal areas may have travelled there, but I'm betting that most of these people are from the traditionally solid-red western Michigan area surrounding Grand Rapids.

This is great news, folks. Grand Rapids is the Mississippi of the North.

32. Huge crowds don't always translate into votes
Walter Mondale had huge crowds. Howard Dean had huge crowds. They both got creamed.

The key to victory is turnout, turnout, turnout. You can have the biggest crowds in history at your rallies, but unless they get to the polls you lose.
