http://www.nydailynews.com/front/story/360050p-306718c.htmlAnnie Mae Spence's eyes were heavy with grief as she recalled her last moments with her son.
"I was rubbing his back, and I was singing," Spence recalled, running her long fingers against her temple. At the bedside of her dying son, she sang him his favorite gospel hymn, "The Battle is Not Yours, It's the Lord's."
With 65% of his body covered in third-degree burns, doctors had placed Army Staff Sgt. George Alexander on his stomach. Spence, a former hospital worker, knew the end was near and she leaned in close to him.
"I said, 'George, if you are tired, you can close your eyes. I'm here for you.'"

When asked about * saying the best way to honor the fallen was to complete the mission."I think it was a useless war. It's a waste of taxpayer money," she said. "They didn't find any weapons of mass destruction."
This is one I wish I could post the entire story here - please read it. This mother doesn't want her son known as the 2,000th. She wonders how one can put a number on a human being, on a life. According to this story he was a career soldier and had done nine tours in Iraq. To me it's way past time this stop-loss crap and this multiple tour of duty crap should stop. The SOB in the WH and his POS Rummy need to step up and ask the Repuke Chickenhawks to fill the ranks and do their time in Iraq for the Dear Leader they support. Failing that, I'd like to see a call for a draft, no deferment's like the 60's chickenhawks got. Let's see how much support these F'ers have then for their war.
