Putin calls for Iraq troop pullout timetable
http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20050818/wl_mideast_afp/iraqrussiajordanputin_050818170247

"We deem it necessary to work out a schedule for the staged withdrawal of foreign troops" in Iraq, Putin told reporters following talks with Jordan's King Abdullah II.

"Many Iraqis perceive these forces as occupying forces, and this is a reality that should be taken into account," the Russian leader said Thursday.

Putin also suggested an international conference on Iraq to be held by year's end.

"We consider that holding that holding an international conference this year would give a new impulse to the normalization of the situation" in Iraq, the Russian leader told reporters.

2. Putin may be giving bush a way out
International conference on Iraq? Outstanding idea. On second thought the neocons will have nothing to do with it (until we get a little closer to the midterm elections) when republican in congress start storming the white house with pitchforks.

7. Putin talking about deadlines, China doing deals with Iran
Either it is all falling apart for PNAC, or the world is heading for a lot of hurt. I hope it is the former.
