(08-20) 07:05 PDT NEWARK, N.J. (AP) --

A doctor who told reporters he had an affair with the man accusing Gov. James E. McGreevey of sexual harassment was arrested.

Officers took Michael David Miller into custody about 11:30 p.m. Thursday at his home in Livingston, the Essex County Sheriff's Office said Friday morning.

The Star-Ledger of Newark reported on its Web site that Miller was charged with impersonating an FBI officer and causing false public alarm.

"His behavior was so bizarre that I felt compelled, after discussing this with the prosecutor, to take this action to protect the community and Mr. Miller," Sheriff Armando Fontoura told the newspaper.

3. OK, sure,
The guy comes out in support of a powerful politico and get hustled off to jail, that sounds logical to me.

My favorite book of all time is still The Gulag Archipelago.

4. Charged with "causing false public alarm"?
If that's a real crime that can be committed in New Jersey, I'd suggest that a lot of folks attending the RNC next week be REAL careful about getting on the wrong road out of Manhattan. They could be at serious risk of arrest. Lookin' at YOU, Ashcroft and Ridge!

9. College professor?
I hadn't heard about any professor.

The guy who came forward saying he was Cipel's lover was a doctor, and it's the same guy as in this story.

13. Yeah he's supposedly a Professor, medical doctor,
and CIA agent. He said that the CIA makes him take pills that make his skin darker, so that he can infiltrate "unnamed groups". Can't find link....read it today's "Metro".

This is about as bad as Iraq and Sadr.

EDIT: Something just isn't right. He was a doctor, but now he's a threat and arrested?

11. I believe there were three callers to McGreevey

claiming to be lovers of Cipel. One was a college professor.

It IS getting pretty loony tunes, isn't it.

Just bear in mind, IF there really is something more sinister than just sex or nepotism or even blackmail going on {of all the jobs, why HOMELAND SECURITY?!?!?!?!}, there will be attempts to distract and confuse the public's attention.

Also, wherever famous people gather, attention-getters and insane people tend to cluster too.
