Georgetown, Indiana - A 15-year-old boy fatally shot a sheriff's deputy and seriously wounded another in a confrontation outside his southern Indiana home on Monday and the search for him continued late into the night, authorities said.
Deputy Frank Denzinger died hours after the shooting, Floyd County Sheriff Darrell Mills said early Tuesday. Deputy Joel White was hospitalized in critical condition, he said.
Officers combed the boy's neighborhood and the surrounding wooded area for hours and believed they had him cornered late Monday, state police Sgt. Jerry Goodin said.
"We feel like we do have him surrounded in an area and we know where he is at," Goodin said.

I heard on the radio hourly news break at 3am CDT that the kid had been killed, but I can't confirm that.
Honors for a fallen officer, please.
