http://news.xinhuanet.com/english/2006-06/17/content_4710561.htmGAZA, June 17 (Xinhua) -- The Hamas-led Palestinian government on Saturday welcomed the EU's decision to send urgent aid to the Palestinians despite economical sanctions imposed on Hamas by the West.
"Certainly, this is a positive step and a new development on the European stance," Hamas cabinet spokesman Ghazi Hamad told reporters.
"We welcome such a positive attitude," Hamad said, adding "wehope that the aid package "would be a means of establishing anormal relationship between the EU and the Palestinian government."
However, He blamed the EU and the United States for the deepening of a financial crisis facing the Hamas-led government.
Leaders of the EU, the biggest donor for the Palestinians, have agreed on supplying the Palestinians with money designated for food supplies and healthcare system.
