The Evil, Satanic, GOP only NRA
Supports Mark Udall (DColorado)?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MAC59zTSiWo

From The NRA publication "America's First Freedom"

Senator Mark Udall D Colorado, is making efforts to restore existing gun ranges that have been neglected and shut down, as well as build new ranges on public lands.

But, But the NRA is nothing more than a republican political action committee I read it right here on DU.

9 out of 10 Canadians said so

Can you name any Democrat with a record on guns like Mitt's with a B?

30. Do you have documentation on the NRA grading Romney since his gubernatioral race in 2002?
Edited on Wed Nov-23-11 10:33 AM by aikoaiko
I have a difficult time navigating the NRA site to find primary endorsements (if there were any).

Apparently, in 2002, the NRA graded both Romney and O'Brien (the Democrat) with B grades and declined to endorse one over the other.
But then Romney signed into law the MASS gun control legislation. Do you know if the NRA has addressed his more recent activity or if they graded him in a primary candidate in 2007? I may be wrong, but they may not grade or endorse primary candidates.

3. Sen Udall has a good point
They could take some of the Pittman Robertson money, which comes from a tax on firearms and ammunition, combine it with the Civilian Marksmanship Program and get some top tier ranges.

From the Christian Science Monitor:

Why the NRA is rallying behind endangered Democrats

Historically, the NRA has overwhelmingly supported Republicans. But Democrats began backing many pro-gun House candidates in 2006, and now the NRA is coming to their defense.

11. But the NRA has contributed to Democrats
Edited on Mon Nov-21-11 09:39 PM by burf
From politicalticker at CNN:

"The NRA has figured out - why own one party, when you can own both parties?"

The National Rifle Association boasts around four million members, and has a substantial campaign war chest, with $15 to $20 million earmarked for spending on the 2010 cycle. It has also produced ads supporting at least seven Republicans, in Senate, House, and gubernatorial races.

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, the group has donated $169,500 to Democratic and $350,550 to Republican Congressional campaigns this cycle. Of the ten candidates who got the most, four are Democrats.

Udall going on a NRA talk show tells me he probably ain't going after the Brady Campaign endorsement.

Also, backfired intent in the OP.

This sort of shit does us no favors. The NRA's political arm is pretty much unredeemable at this point. Don't waste the electrons. They are neither beneficial, nor necessary to protect our basic civil rights.

Edited on Fri Nov-25-11 04:48 AM by slackmaster
Sneaking around from door to door at night, leaving grocery bags full of them on peoples' front porches. I made so many jars of pickles I doubt that I'll ever be able to eat them all.

The following year I made about 20 jars of pickled garlic cloves, which I grew.

31. Their PAC...
is populated with a bunch of folks who really don't understand politics. Their slant toward the Republican Party is quite obvious and more than a bit counter-productive. Bush was ready and willing to sign a new AWB if Congress would pass one. The Bush terror black lists are now being touted as yet another gun control tool. And they still blindly support Republicans. Sure they'll endorse a Democrat once in a while but they sure won't spend any money to back up that endorsement.
