Bernie Sanders
In reply to the discussion: I just spent some serious time perusing The Political Pub on HillaryClintonSupporters.com [View all]R. P. McMurphy
(837 posts)I visited the site earlier. Didn't know it existed until this evening. So much is going through my mind. There are people there for whom I had a great deal of respect. I may have disagreed with them but wanted to see their point of view. Now I will never be able to take many of them seriously ever again. To be fair, there were a couple of posters who were trying to call for sanity but the majority were in full hate and ridicule mode.
I still don't (and won't) put people on ignore. There are a few, though, who I will fell free to tell that, because they have chosen to unmask themselves as haters, their words no longer carry any weight with me.
I've seen some Bernie supporters post some things that seemed over the top (mostly VERY forceful tired of corporatist, third-way, opportunistic DLC and I'll never vote for Hillary) and it troubled me because I WOULD HAVE VOTED for whomever the Democratic nominee was (except Webb). I can't say that now. At least Sanders supporters had POLICY reasons not to like Clinton. I didn't see that on the other site. No repudiation of Bernie's policies -- just attacks and ridicule of his supporters.
I truly feel sorry for them. They can't make a meaningful argument for Clinton's policies or against Sanders'. They sure aren't winning hearts and minds. They've resorted to calling SOMEONE LIKE ME a part of the crazy left and not a real Democrat. It must be a lonely and scary place they're in.
