When we chose to follow Jesus, we decided that the Kingdom of God, and the men and women and children of this world, were more important than us. And that accidentally made us all liberals. The day we decided to follow Christ, and the day we decided that we value other human beings more than ourselves, we accidentally became liberals.

What a great OP!

After reading the text I had to go back and listen to him. It's the best sermon I've heard, ever.

Oh, and I can't help but wonder if so many of us have left the church, because the church left us long ago, when they ignored Jesus' words and sided with Conservative politicians and used hate and fear and threats to try to control people...instead of love like Jesus would have.
