9. I had an aussie shepard - heeler mix

She died a few months after I joined here. I'll get another dog some day. Right now I'm enjoying the freedom of not having one. I get my animal kicks every Thursday, when I volunteer at a horse shelter. It's very enjoyable - they're fascinating creatures. I started volunteering there to get away from people one day a week. But it's also made me more patient toward people. The horses have taught me more about patience and acceptance. Funny how sometimes life can teach you stuff when you're not looking.
