italy is very much a misogynist society. we like to pretend they are more socially progressive. i see most europe behind us in the womans movement. we are told so many things that factually do not pan out but logically make no sense. and we are suppose to just buy it.
Its a macho acting-out of the attitude, How dare youyou inferior bitchleave me! she says. Its acting out his feelings of male superiority.
From the burning of witches in the past to the more recent widespread custom of female infanticide in many societies, to the killing of women for honor
femicide has been going on a long time, says Russell who first testified about femicide at the International Tribunal of Crimes against Women in Brussels in 1976. Her book Femicide: The Politics of Woman Killing, resulted in the term being adopted in more than 15 countries in Latin America.
and then to have SOME men tell us it is just as bad for them. sick.
This is reflected in the laws as well as in the norms and values, she says. Men are considered the head of their families, and many believe their wives should be subservient to them. When their power is threatened, many lash out violently.
they do not even try to pretend that they are better about this issue than the u.s. they compare themselves to latin america macho society.
for whatever reason i have an interest in this man hates woman that i am feeling so much of. yesterday i was reading a site and a man was saying "i hate women" and then went into a bunch of garbage about women the ultimate evil, ect... reading thru the responses there was a poster with the same name as someone on du. it was really illuminating. how horrible american women are and boy did it go on a rant that would be parallel to his posts on du, but in code usage, now flat out saying like on this site.
then later in the day i read an article by a woman, talking about this men hating women phenomena. again, very interesting. i come in here to post that article and see your title. so, it is something i am gonna do a little focusing on.
