(11,366 posts)32. I've always maintained that it's not a North/South thing.
It's a city/rural thing.
I mean the divide of who votes Dem v. GOP.
Cities are always more progressive and Tennessee's four major cities prove that. My own mayor was the first woman mayor in the state, as well as the first Latina. Nashville just elected a female as mayor. They're BEHIND us and the Eastern side of the state is supposed to be the most conservative!
However, our Dem Party spent the last 12 years trying to push DINO, Third-Way on the populace (think Harold Ford Jr.) and it NEVER works. We need a populist. The state would eat that up with a spoon.
