Had Romney not eked out a victory in Michigan over Santorum, it's entirely possible it's Obama versus Santorum instead of Obama versus Romney. Romney ran an awful primary campaign against b-list politicians and it nearly cost him the nomination.

You can learn a lot about a presidential candidate from their primary campaign. Obama ran a fantastic primary against Clinton and ran a fantastic general against McCain. McCain ran a pretty awful primary campaign in '08 and only lucked into the nomination when Romney imploded in Iowa (had Romney won Iowa, he probably would've won NH and the nomination) and he ran an awful general election campaign. In '92, Clinton ran a damn impressive primary campaign and ran a damn impressive general campaign.

The sad truth is that we are owned by the corporate rich. Corporate fascism is alive and well. Lint Head Jul 2012 #1
